Watching a little of the halfpipe qualifying, the grandstand looked like it was about 1/3 full, looked like it wouldn't even match the attendance at a good high school football game.

It's because Pyongchang is basically a resort town in the middle of nowhere. It is 24 miles to the closest airport, and only a couple hundred miles from the demilitarized zone that separates North Korea and South Korea.

It's been very gusty and cold as well.

But those stupid Koreans don’t know how to support their country. Huge and greatest turnouts in the US. Sad.

I don't care enough to try and defend the folks avoiding the Skiing venues, but Alex Stone from ABC News was reporting temps were -12 on the Mountain yesterday. You couldn't pay me to sit there through those temperatures.

Its Korea. They support their country immensely. But they are too busy working and going to school 20 hours a day.

I’d wager the average North Korean (especially those living outside of Pyongchang) don’t have a clue what the Olympics are. Unless of course the regime has used it as propaganda to show their people just how “awesome” they are.

All North Koreans live outside Pyeongchang, because it’s in South Korea. Pyongyang is in North Korea.

We looked into going on this trip. Pretty much every room in the area was already booked by the Olympic committee. To get there you had to take a bullet train from Seoul every day- 70 minutes each way. Just was not worth the hassle. I'm sure the Olympic committee who chose this location was nicely rewarded though.

Don't sell Lincoln short as a venue. It's common knowledge that it's below zero with 8 feet of snow on the ground 7-8 months a year.

If you ever have the chance I say go! I have traveled the world over the last 25 years but the most fun I had was 10 days in Atlanta in the summer of 1996. What those athletes can do when seen in person is mind boggling to me.
