Transferring wouldn’t be his worst choice. Don’t get me wrong I want him to stay.

Transferring would buy him an extra year to improve before testing the NFL waters.

Or to get injured. Unless you are a QB. Transferring for that purpose is highly difficult.

Knowing a system is part of what makes players play at a high level, imo.

He put enough on film last year to the point that if he does the same and tests well at the combine somebody will draft him. I know he shied away from contact at times, but he was playing with an injured shoulder. Athletically he has the package but I think he would go late in the draft due to his inconsistency. For heaven's sake, Nate Gerry made a team.

He was much more physical last year than any previous years and that’s saying something.

Two straight years of real coaching under Fisher might be just as good. He improved quite a bit by the end of the year. I think Fisher is the perfect type of no ********, put up or shut up, coach LJ needs.

Agreed. His physicality has improved, but still needs to find that other NFL caliber level. His tackling is still sub-par.
His progress has seemed mostly steady. As mentioned before just having a second year in the same system will do wonders.

Bootle’s cover skills were impressive last year. If he and Jackson can both increase their physicality in run support, it will be an immense asset fulfilling 1/2 the equation at DB.

Cam Taylor will also be there pushing those two bringing his contagious energy every down.

Yeah I don't think it is regarding the draft. I think it is regarding this upcoming season. He knows if he wants to make the big bucks he has to go all out this year and really show his talent. So I think it is just his way of saying, he is focused and ready to rock this year.

Why are you guys starting transfer rumors? That's obviously not what's happening. Silly little gossip girls.

Why would he want to start with a fourth DB coach?? He will be in year two under Fish. That has to be worth staying put. Plus fish has proven he can put talent at the next level. Dumb thought to transfer

Nate Gerry has a Super Bowl ring. He started two games this past year at LB, played in 13 games, and had 22 tackles and a pick. Was also a special teams beast. #FEF #GBR

I’d love to see LJ out on shutdown island. Take away that third of the field and make everyone else’s job easier. Drop a safety into the box and play cover 1 to the other side.
