Said his goodbyes this morning to the players. Expectations are fsu. At least he waited until signing day.

Getting antsy waiting to hear who the DC is going to be. The stuff posted by some of the recruits has me wanting to believe it's an exciting hire and not just a Butler promotion.

I think Knighton did wait.
He only waited because he had no job to go to. The fact is, the players that already knew he was leaving announced they were entering the portal before signing day, that told anyone with a brain that the decision was already made and he had shared that decision with those players.

edited for @oldjar07 to clarify that they had not yet officially entered the portal and just announced that they were leaving Nebraska.

The transfer portal window isn't even open yet. There could be one or several more players yet along the DL left to join the portal.

I think Tony White and MR disagreed on the db hire. Nobody outstanding was easily available. Pot Roast is mad about Cooper who may get hidden in a recruiting role at FSU. I also think there has to be more we wont ever know. Pot Roast was a MR guy. His lack of loyalty tells me he was unhappy with MR himself.....maybe he knows more than we do...?

Bye, good luck at the dumpster fire FSU. You will be looking for another job this time next year.
At least he’ll be able to recruit athletes. Without athletes and speed his defense or any defense for that matter won’t work. They breed speed in FL so he’ll do just fine and not have to sell a cow pasture and that concrete cleats are the norm.

He and Cooper are very close. Remember, there was a lot of talk about him leaving when Cooper left this Summer. If Cooper really is joining the staff at FSU, that would make a lot of sense.

That doesn't change the fact that he had already made his decision to leave and told multiple players and those players announced they were entering the portal.

You could be right about that. I'm unsure what FSU was telling White re: his staffing options. I feel pretty good about stating that White let Knighton know he'd like him to join him at FSU at least over a week ago. It's over now and personally I wish Knighton, White, and any others on their way to FSU the best of luck and thank them for their hard work in making NU's defense respectable again.

Kinda how I feel. I don't really care how it went down. Unless you have the entire story it's just hard to be judgemental. Crazy thing is I'm a Rhule guy in this all but until I know something about what truly happened I won't be mad at those coaches. I'm sure they have their reasons

I hope it isn't Butler.... the recruits don't know unless it is Butler. Their tweets were encouraged to save face with the fans and recruits. They don't have a clue if it's an outside hire.

Would you bet NU will win more games than FSU next season?
Might be a toss up. Just looked at their schedule. Ceiling looks like 8 wins for fsu imo. My guess is nebraska win total o/u for betting sites will be .5 - 1 game higher than fsu, which I know doesn’t mean actual wins on the field.

I wish Knighton well at his next job.

This is probably just as well. I would imagine our new DC will want to chose his own assistants.

Considering they were 12-0 in 2023, are in a recruiting hot bed and play in a league where SMU had the best record in their first year. I would hope they have higher expectations.
Supposedly we're a blueblood program and they're not. No reason we should have lower expectations.

I suspect Tuco, like me, cares about reality-based factors that have real world implications.
