is not happy at Vandy and the fans are tired of him.

This is a name to think about.

Good name. Another coach (along with Herb Sendek) with more than 400 wins and several NCAA tournament bids. He would be a great get!

Could be a candidate for Stanford if, and it's looking like they will, they fire Johnny Dawkins

Dawkins took the cardinal to one NCAA tourney. Sendek is 7 months older than Dawkins. Sendek is clearly better. Pass on Dawkins.
Sendek has more experience as a HC. Sendek has also never coached at a school that has the rigorous academic entrance requirements as Stanford

I think so....who does more with less to work with....?? Academic restrictions are absurd, and you get no marginal kids and absolutely no JUCO's etc....I'm sure anyone can win with Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Arizona talent or the fundings of schools like Oregon etc....Vandy immediately returns to the bottom of the SEC the day Stallings is fired....this is Vanderbilt we are talking about.

I would not place Crean, Alford or a lot of bigger name schools coaches ahead of him....

Stallings is a Top 15 coach in the country....

Hold on Hawk! He is not Top 15 coach in the country! Have followed Vanderbilt very closely, having a son that graduated 2 years ago from that fine university. Stallings with excellent talent has lost in the first round of tournaments, conference, NCAA, NIT, and the fan base is sick of him. He had the talent this year , as they beat Kentucky at home, but had a ton of ridiculous losses on the road. Most people think Vanderbilt and Georgetown are the 2 biggest disappointments of the year and I cannot argue with that thought. His roots were in the Midwest and Vanderbilt is a national school, so doubt he would recruit locally. He got Baldwin, because Vandy recruits Privates, like Delbarton, St. Joes, Blair, but cannot see him having any luck in the local AAU scene.
He had 3 pros a few years back , Taylor, Ezeile, Jenkins and still didn't get it done in the NCAA , as they squeaked by Harvard and lost to Wisconsin . His private school national recruiting model that works at Vanderbilt , is not what Rutgers has to offer.
