Zags recent article mentions Hurley, Lonergan, Pikiell, Cluess,Williams and Boyle. Assuming Hurley passes, Lonergan uses us

if it comes to this, which would you prefer? Boyle or Williams (Keeping in Mind I still prefer Sendek)

Taking a chance on either is doing something different than paying a Pikiell ,Masiello or Cluess

Insanity-doing the same thing over and over and expecting different result

Williams or Boyle-High risk, high reward

I'd go Boyle

Neither.

If doing the same thing over and over means hiring someone that has actually coached a college basketball team then I guess every major program is insane.

If it came down to Williams or Boyle I would take Boyle. He has coached for many years and has had the top high school team in the USA for a few years. His Monteverde team I have seen play the last two years and they to me seem better than many D-1 teams. He has many contacts too.

Talk about rolling the dice. Can't hire a HS coach and can't hire an ESPN analyst with no coaching experience.

If it comes down to that then I would have wanted to keep Eddie, or keep him on speed dial to come back to us.

I dont want either but gun to my head would pick Boyle because at least we has coaching experience and was a recruiter

all the people running around saying Jay Williams will recruit are saying that on blind faith...even top coaches dont recruit all that well. Should we hire Jay Z as an assistant to get kids to come

You can't blame Hobbs. If this happens, it will because Barchi refuses to commit to the infrastucture improvments being demanded by the coaches being interviewed.

to be fair, its his job to convince him. Hobbs knew the deal before he fired Jordan he should have been working on Barchi all along

I wouldn't be happy with either but if I had a gun to my head, I'd take Boyle. I know him personally and I could see him making it work. He doesn't "fail" well.

Trump would be an amazing recruiter, build a great new facility, and build a wall around New Jersey and make Duke pay for it. You may be on to something there.

yeah but..no chance at recruiting...Muhammad Ali Abdur Rahkman or Abdul Shamsid-Deen or God Shammgod or Khalid El-Amin

Where was he a recruiter ? It would have been against NJSIAA rules to recruit when he was at st. Pats. :joy::joy:

Normally I hate when current events filter into important athletic conversations. But this is funny.

Boyle has 3 of top 5 national HS players in the 2018 class. I'm not saying he's the answer but man he's a good guy to know.

I agree with this. If wind up having to settle for a Jay Williams becuase RU is refusing to put the needed resources into the program to make sure it's a success, then we will be exactly were we started before firing Jordan.

Kevin Boyle. He has a lot of coaching experience and can recruit. If we are going to roll the dice, it has to be Kevin.

Hire Boyle and have Jay Williams to be assistant coach and then hire the top recruiter at St. John's. Name is spelled wrong Rohrensein. Get a big guy coach (former center) to teach the power forwards and centers

Slice isnt leaving St Johns and yes he is an outstanding recruiter. Jordan needed to hire him before SJU got him
