With EJ coming back, this was the one transfer that hurt (so far).
Excellent news!
What this and the Emmett announcement seem to indicate is that there is an effort to keep those that they want to keep.
I think they want to keep promising YOUNG players. I also noticed a lot of the transfers Nebraska is mentioned with have multiple years potentially, not a lot of 1 & dones.
I think he has a chance to be a significant contributor to the defense. Glad he's back.
I think many of these D portal guys were waiting to see who the DC and position coach was going to be before deciding to stay N. Glad he's staying.
that doesn't make any sense, all the geniuses on here are saying the new DC is garbage, so that can't be it.
Not knowing anymore than I do I'll give partial credit for this retention to DC Butler & DL Coach Bradden. I'm assuming Davis is good with these coaches.
Not even sure it matters. He's at worst a 2 deep player for our current roster as a sophomore. Probably has more upside than any other DL we have. That alone is worth keeping him in the fold.

Jmo, of course....but I think Davis has a chance to be very, very good. Hopefully, he continues to progress.

He's the secondary coach for the Chiefs, so probably not. But a good guy to have supporting the program.

I’m going to go tell my boss that I’m entering the work transfer portal. Announce it on instagram. Thank everyone for everything. Then wait a few days to see if I’m offered a raise….is that how it works???
Maybe testing their value. I'm guessing he and EJ got offered enough of a bump in NIL to stick around.
That and actually knowing who his coaches would be helps. Hope we see him in the bowl game.
