With a Regional playoff game on tap for Monday, the Kellam Knights made quick work of the Ocean Lakes Dolphins defeating them 11-0 mercy rule win in five innings. Old Dominion recruit Kurt Sinnen was a homerun short of the cycle and he drove in two runs.
OCean Lakes had defeated Kellam during the regular season behind a strong pitching performance from John Ruhlman however the Knights rocked the Dolphins starter for 10 hits and three innings. The Knights dominated every phase scoring runs in every inning while three pitches combined to allow only one hit.
The Knights pounded out 13 hits in four innings with both Kurt Sinnen and Landyn Neumann collecting three hits each. The two combined on a run scoring play in the second when Sinnen doubled in Neumann for a 3-0 lead.
Kellam added three more in the third including an RBI triple by Sinnen. Neumann helped finish up the scoring in the fourth with an RBI single that made extended the lead to 10-0.
Ryan Galvin pitched the 3rd and 4th innings to get the win to improve to 4-1 on the year. He combined with Brett Forbes and David Culler to hold the Dolphins to only three hits.
