This in state rivalry game is very winnable as long as The Hall maintains the level of focus, they have played with in the
early season. It is an important game for a multitude of reasons. It would cap off a tremendous OOC campaign. Bouncing back
this quickly after last season has been impressive. Although they don't have a great win, the feeling is that they can compete
with most teams out there. Yes, of course it would be nice to beat Rutgers, but from year to year it could be up and down for both schools in
the NIL era. Most important they need to add to the overall win total, protect the NET and early season ranking. So, the team needs to show up with that intense chip on their shoulder attitude. It will be interesting to see how they react to the first big crowd of the season and how the crowd reacts to this year's version of Seton Hall Basketball??

With only two players who see the court from NJ, this is just another game to the rest. The games when players knew each other well, always added increased their chances of having those influences affect their playing. I don't see that tonight.

Doesn't matter that there aren't many Jersey players on the team. Does matter that there's no one on SH who has played in this game in years past. But Sha and his staff and Pike & Knight know what the series means, the fans know what it means and the atmosphere in the arena will show what it means. Sha has been successful in getting this group fired up for the big games so far and we've jumped on teams early with our intensity - this can be no different.

While you don't have the old days of local guys who were at the schools for years, players can feel the juice of the rivalry. Last year we had a terrible team and they had a highly touted team and we were leading by 10 before they needed a buzzer-beater to win. We know what happened two years ago with their flukey 3PT shooting day that beat us at home.

Anything can happen. Just win the damn game. We cannot afford a Q3/Q4 loss to this team of all teams. The Hall has a better roster and more depth. Just get the win.

This is how I see it.

I like the way this team comes out and competes from the opening whistle. That's been pretty consistent and you would think that continues. Turn RU over early and put them on their heels. Listened to Jersey Jump Shot and Jerry had an interesting stat on avg. D1 experience for both teams. SHU is like 2.7 years and one of the higher numbers in the country and RU is only like 1.7 years. SHU had one of the lowest last year.

History has been unpredictable in these games because of the emotion. Maybe it will be just another game for the players since there is no history with any of the players going back to H.S. and very few being NJ kids. Maybe a more predictable outcome....SHU -11.5. I think it means more to the team to be 10-1 heading into the BE schedule.

Experience is a key difference between this year's team and last year's team.

We weren't completely devoid of experienced players but DAW and Jenkins, the two best of them, were out for at least a quarter of the season. Harmon played so little before he left that he was essentially invisible.

Sha relied heavily on players like Coleman, Middleton, Dual, Godswill, Okorafor, Yalden and Felton -- all talented players to various degrees -- but all fairly inexperienced. That often came back to bite us.
