Awesome video from Hurtt’s IG:

Makes me sick how good he was in ‘09 and ‘10. Shot 39% from 3 in ‘09 and 37% in ‘10. Scored 20 ppg that year in ‘10 and had Jordan Clarkson and Haralson on that roster too. And we still were even close to the tourney. Wojcik underperformed with so much talent on his rosters.

Yeah, the amount of talent Wojcik had on his rosters and somehow he couldn't coach them out of a paper bag in crunch time.

The 2010 Team with Uzoh, Jordan, and Hurtt not making the NCAA tourney is the worst coaching job in TU history.

Lol. Sure bro.
I don't know how old TTownPod is but John Phillips was easily the worst coach in my TU era which began in 1992. Which is remarkable considering he guided 2 teams to the NCAA tournament but when you realize that basically Greg Harrington was coaching those teams from the court. When you have really good players they don't need to be over coached. Problem with Phillips is he couldn't recruit and he couldn't coach when the team needed that. Wojcik was a solid recruiter but he also stifled some of his players (Hurtt for one). I think Wojcik has a good basketball mind but his personality didn't lend him to being a great head coach (he hated fans, he hated admin, he hated the media, and I think he probably even hated some of the players he brought in).

I think it's funny that you think the TU era was 1992 onward. It started in 1980.

Jim King and John Phillips were both good men but were losing coaches. Phillips had the advantage of having Bill Self's players his first two seasons. King was hired due to pressure on his behalf by a prominent former player and booster. Our current coach isn't exactly lighting it up. He gets one more year to turn it around or he gets placed in the same category as King and Phillips.
