Rhule is right about this. One bad play when youre up 11 points is not what lost this game. Its all the BS that happened after it
I forgot that Bill Busch was the ST coordinator at the time of this game. Pretty sure he felt sick when the call came down to run this play.

No, actually that one bad play lost that game. Momentum is real, especially for one of Frost's mentally delicate rosters.

Coaches are pretty reluctant to criticize other coaching decisions, so I would expect Rhule to say something along those lines....but that particular decision was one of the greatest self-owns in recent history, equally as baffling today as it was 3 years ago

Don't forget,

Nebraska has played in 8 OT games since 2014
Nebraska hasn't scored a point in any of them
Nebraska hasn't gotten a 1st down in any of them

The defense has been horrible in overtime’s during that stretch as well.

More composite numbers:
  • Anemic running game. Officially, the Huskers have run the ball 11 times for minus-51 yards. Disregard quarterback sacks and it's still beyond meager: six rushes for four yards.
  • Trouble stopping the run.Nebraska's opponents have amassed 131 rushing yards on 27 carries. Their average rushing gain is a robust 4.85 yards, which is 60% better than Nebraska's longest rushing gain (3 yards).
  • Disastrous passing game.Husker quarterbacks have completed six of 16 passes for 40 yards and have had four intercepted. On five other called passing plays that count statistically as runs, Nebraska has suffered quarterback sacks for losses totaling 55 yards. That means 21 called passing plays have netted minus-15 yards and four turnovers.
  • Add it all up. That's minus-11 yards of total offense, zero points, zero first downs and four turnovers in 27 plays.
Overtime futility

The only unfortunate thing about the crotch grab was that Ben’s fellow linemen didn’t go full on Equalizer on that POS A&M player. There was video evidence and nothing happened to that POS. The league totally ignored it. Sh## like that should warrant a suspension for the rest of the year.

it would be interesting to know what ever became of that waste of oxygen.
