I know I posted earlier that I would not be going to the bowl game. But my daughter who lives in New Jersey (huge Huskers fan) surprised me with 4 tickets to the game as a Christmas gift. Just reserved my hotel (Highbridge Hotel) which is just a 10 minute walk away from Yankee Stadium.

Hopefully I will see some of you there! GBR!

Just spent 2 weeks in NYC at the end/beginning of October/November and it was one of the best trips my wife and I ever took. We stayed at a Hilton just 2 blocks off Times Square.

There are so many things to do and sights to see that even 2 weeks didn't seem enough time to experience it all.

If I were headed to the game I would try to spend as much time as the budget would allow to sightsee while there. It is EXPEN$IVE however as if you want the best experience possible it will cost you $$$$$! The Hilton suite we booked was just shy of $800 per night.

Have fun, hopefully it will be a great game culminating in a win and winning season.

I forgot to mention Ellen's Stardust Diner with their performances while you eat. Affordable and good food and easily one of the memorable experiences you'll have while visiting the Big Apple!

There is no place on earth worth $800/night

You probably wouldn't like the $80 Lift to Laguardia airport from our hotel either.

Enjoy Pennsy. Hopefully we have a decent crowd for that game. I am hoping NU Volleyball does well so I can make that trek as NYC is just not appealing.

Where are your seats and how did they get them?? Last night through ticket office or direct through the bowl??

The email was alittle vague from the NU ticket office. My time slot is this morning but there hasn't been much direction how actually works. Got an email Saturday saying prices 45 to 150

Got my 3. We live outside NYC is Connecticut . Normally take the yankee express train down to Yankee games. Not sure if train will be running for bowl. Tried to get best seats but there really wasn’t any great seats as the closer you get to mid field the further away from the field you get!

I’m glad I don’t have to pay airfare and hotel costs but this is the worst of all big 10 tie in bowls. Expensive city, chilly weather and football inside a baseball only stadium. How the hell did Mayo bowl take the gophers over us?

Going to NYC as a tourist is a unique experience, hopefully all Husker fans that go have a great time. Is going to Jacksonville, FL or someplace like that really better just bc it's warmer?

Yes it is because you have options. Options in airports, tourist attractions that you can actually take a rental car to instead of public transportation or cab, warm weather, can drive to it and no concern of getting hit with winter storm, more reasonable lodging, beach

Those other destinations don't have an Empire State Building, a Radio City Music Hall/Rockettes, Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Broadway shows, Statue of Liberty, Madison Square Garden, St Michael's Cathedral, The Tonight Show (I actually wandered into one of their skits) and many other things that escape my memory at the moment.

Several of those places I mentioned were a short walk of 10-15 minutes from our hotel so paying the higher room rates was worth it as we didn't always worry about using the transit system when we went out.

Just riding a NYC subway is a unique experience if you never have before.

When the subway emerges out of it's tunnel and travels above ground locals call that the L, short for elevated railway.

Know what the locals sing when the elevated railway is out of commission?

🎶 No L, no L...

You're welcome. 😬

Road subway system in Cambridge/west Boston area. Just got on it and did round trips back to where I started just to see the area. Definitely made it into some out of my comfort zone areas but never felt unsafe

After the 4th or 5th time, NYC lost its luster for me. It’s a thrashing, but a football game in yankee stadium would be cool. Enjoy!

That doesn't count the hotel in Washington DC for 4 nights or the hotels in Maryland or Pennsylvania either.

The wife and I are near retirement age and still in reasonably good health and decided to visit two of our children that live out on the east coast.

The trip of a lifetime my wife called it.

Well it appears that, imo, ticket sales aren't setting any records. After 3 rounds of sales (based upon priority pts which is determined by giving) there's still plenty of top dollar tickets available this morning. This could change in a hurry though. However, with a 6 ticket maximum per account and 7500 accounts have had an opportunity to purchase, just doesn't look like they're flying off the shelf.

Last round for donors is this morning and then they go on sale to the public this afternoon. Buy them guys

You spent used SUV money on the trip of a lifetime and have all of the memories for the rest of your life - well done! I plan to do a lot of that the next 10 years.
