Kruetz has strong family ties in Nebraska, although I don't recall them exactly. He went on to play for the Bears for years.
Man that play they drew up for Frost was devastating. Sort of a QB lead draw, they'd fake the dive out of the I and then Frost would keep right behind it. Chunked teams with that. Lots of highlights of him taking those for TDs.
What was that thing called where our big guys push their big guys out of the way?
It's been a while, but maybe blocking or something like that?
Look how sudden the line is off the ball. Haven't seen the OL fire off like that in a long, long time.
I just remember the lead up to that game and all the ESPN honks talking up Huard and Jason Chorak (their All-American linebacker) and how he was going to wreak havoc on us. Chorak was a great player, but somehow he was supposed to have more impact on the game than our two AA D-linemen combined. Yeah, about that...
3 off sides on our D line on the first drive. Glad we have a coach that will instill some discipline coming in
I've got the College Game Day on the day of this game on tape somewhere. When they discuss our game, someone(I think it was Herbstreit) said he thought Scott Frost would bounce back from getting booed at home the previous week and have a good game. Then Tony Barnhart mocks Herbstreit's positive comments about Frost, suggests that Frost's confidence had been destroyed and he'd wilt in a tough road environment and says the game probably wouldn't even be close(obviously suggesting Washington would win in a blowout). I couldn't help but remember that last week when he said Frost would probably be a serious candidate for the Arizona State job and that he would listen since his wife is from the area.
As for Huard, we might have shut them out had he stayed in the game. Tuiasosopo actually gave us some fits.

One of the last tangible memories I have of (my) dad is tailgating before that game. I don’t need a photo album to picture the scene or him. Great, great trip.
I was at that game as well. Huard took a beat down from Wistrom and Peter. Hanging out on the sidelines on his crutches. He didn't want any more of them. Frosty's 2 TD's were awesome. I took my Oregon nephews to their first Husker game there. I talked to them last night about Frost coming home and now they are ready to come to Nebraska for a game next year. GBR.
