My gut says many recruits will wait and see how we do this season before deciding. It is absolutely critical that we have a break out season this year. If we go 9-3 or even 8-4 I think many recruits will give us very serious consideration. But if we go 7-5 or worse then it will take a ton of NIL money to compensate for that.

And if they don’t wait, there’s nothing to keep them from decommitting.

People on here will disagree. But at this moment, I would think that enough top prospects could be sold that NU has already broken out. Five star QB with a year of starting experience, a bowl victory, facility improvements, decent NIL. All of the pieces are in place. NU, again at this moment, can be sold as an up and coming program. Jump on, the train is already moving.

You would think but I am hearing our 26 class is underwhelming. Not my opinion, just what I've been told

I have no idea but HS recruiting matters so little now that it seems like there would be nothing to be worried about.

Very few 18 year old kids are going to be better than some 22 year old from the University of Toledo that has been lifting for 3-4 years in college, knows how to practice, knows the expectations and so on.

Get old and stay old

When you are recruiting high 4 stars and 5 star athletes you MUST BE PATIENT! Even if we don't get them this cycle by getting them on campus now makes them flipable later.

Well that’s how the coaches have to approach this. I’m not buying that, but I’m also 48 and jaded. 18 year old may be able to buy that line of thinking… 🤷‍♂️

The problem is the only players that will help us get out of the middle of the big 10 also have offers from playoff teams. Once we get into the final 2, it is quite easy to point out that statistically we have been one of the worst teams in the last decade, and have a lot of coaching turnover, including losing our best coaches last year when they left for lateral moves. We need an inexplicable breakout season, similar to Indiana and we had a chance at it, except our 80 million dollar coach decided to hire his friends instead of competent coaches, and he decided to alienate his best coaches who left for an even worse situation where they might be respected. It is crazy to think that Pork Chop was from Rhules coaching tree and left him because of the incompetence in the coaching staff, perpetuated by Rhule himself. Anyway, we aren't convincing any top recruits to forgo a playoff team to come to Nebraska, unless they are a legacy and are getting paid way more than the are worth.

Do your homework next time... Pork Chop, Cory Ross, was on Nebraska's roster 20 years ago. You're reaching for Pot Roast.
When you refer to incompetence, look no further than your own rambling half assed post

Can't argue any of my points though. The pessimists will always be right when it comes to Nebraska football, that is until we win a meaningful game? How long has it been? 14 years. Maybe when we beat Michigan State at home with tmart at QB? The one thing I have going for me. I've always disliked the Rhule hire, can't wait for the end of next year, when we get another reset. Hopefully this time they hire a hungry coach with something to coach for and not overpay a guy with zero trophies who keeps failing up.

It makes a huge difference when the QB is so actively involved in recruiting. First, Dylan and now Trae.

Dylan? Hahaha you serious, Clark? If anything, he screwed us on that front. Last minute flip from Georgia didn't leave much time for that.

Is your memory really that bad? Or are you just that big of a homer? Or both.

Trae doing the work Dylan could/should have done.

You should be ordered by the court to take a mental competency test. You have listed no valid points at all. All you've done was spew word **** and be mad for no fvcking reason.

Iowa sucks

This is all very predictable. We’ve seen this same play every year since we joined the B1G, iowa fan bristles and writhes with anger and rage when top prospects show interest in NU. These are sick people, they don’t operate within the boundaries of normal decent social norms.

Dylan has been extremely active with portal recruiting.

Peer recruiting while being a committed recruit matters. Peer recruiting the portal as the starting qb doesn’t. Got it

And? My point stands. His late flip pretty much eliminated any chance for peer recruiting when he was a recruit, which is what Trae's doing.
Yes it was a bummer he wasn’t able to peer recruit - BUT he has been an amazing ambassador since signing and we have many resources who have likely come as a result of him being here OR who have kept out of the transfer portal as a result of him being here too.

So are you implying it didn't matter at all that Raiola committed to Nebraska and has been recruiting ever since he got here? Lot's of luck trying to sell that point of view. RollingLaugh

I'm a huge fan and supporter of Dylan but each to their own.
