Trustees hear strategies to strengthen, expand Penn State’s research enterprise

“UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State achieved a record $1.03 billion in research expenditures in FY22 and is poised for continued growth as one of the nation’s top research institutions, Lora G. Weiss, senior vice president for research, told the Board of Trustees’ Committee on Academic Affairs, Research and Student Life on June 15. To build on recent successes, Weiss said, “will require a combination of strategic leadership, investments, partnering and positioning.”

She then led a panel discussion including faculty research leaders from across the University to present a vision of that future.”

Four trustees committees hold June meetings

Trustees hear updates on Penn State’s research growth strategy, implementation of compensation modernization, optimization of social media

”UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Four Penn State Board of Trustees committees held off-cycle, virtual meetings in June, including the committees on Equity and Human Resources; Academic Affairs, Research and Student Life; Outreach, Development and Community Relations; and Audit and Risk.”

Clear case of got-thisness. o_O

I’m amazed at the varied strategy or strategies that were implemented to develop all these “Strategic Approaches”. Apparently using more than one word to describe actual, perceived or expected outcomes violated the strategic strategy.
