Pinder was the teammate of DeShawn Freeman last year at Hutch CC. He just de-committed from New Mexico. This kid follows associate head coach Chris Harriman wherever he goes. Pinder was originally committed to Nebraska until Harriman left Nebraska for New Mexico.

JUCOs are shortcuts for a coaching staff that doesn't want to commit to 2+ year relationships with HS kids within a 180 mile radius of Rutgers.

Yeah, so what? They can also be players who have a bit more maturity than your your 4 year player. You saying you wouldn't take a Jerome Coleman-type?

When you don't know the roster make up for next year, potential departures, potential for kids that are verballed to not arrive if and when a change is made and need to get a winning season under your belt, you have to keep all options available.

A lot of teams make a quick turnaround with Jucos...the right jucos. I'm sure St. Johns will be very happy with Bashir Ahmed.
