Is he still hurt? Does an NBA team really want to risk a first round pick on him without seeing him be able to string a few games together?
I think the kid re-injured it early in the Missouri game.
I wouldn’t bet on him being ready to play at the start of next season—for us, an NBA team, or a different college team.

His knee isnt right. 10 months was too soon. NERLENS Noel took 17 months to have his come back game and only had an ACL injury. JQ had an AcL. Meniscus, and a fracture....then grew during the rehab months which adds more risk in the healing process simply from being bigger and having more weight/pressure on the knee.

People making this about JQ when it should just be about how poor of a decision it was by pope to "Hope" he made some miracle early return and everything went dandy.

As far as draft...I wouldn't take him till late 2nd round. He is just an athletic big, dime a dozen in the nba...never really proved he can stretch the floor.

He either goes 2nd round or decides to play college ball again somewhere

He collected his $$$$$ that's all that matters!!!! Just hope that Pope stays away from those type of players going forward!
It's kind of sad but also hilarious. Mark Pope is the only coach in America on the college level who will sign off on paying 18-year-olds millions of dollars, only to have them leave and trash him in the process.

This is one where I will reluctantly go to bat for Pope—isn’t it known the staff wanted to hold him out longer, and his camp pushed for St. John’s? I can only imagine pope’s dismay when their cautious approach proved clearly correct.
