I think it was 9-8. Should be a good lesson for him. He controlled that match for all but about 30 seconds and his style got him in trouble at the very end. He looked very good up until then.

Big wins today for White and Geo.

Blaylock 1-2
Rogers 3-1 losing to #6 McFadden
Jacobe 2-2, lost to #6 and #11
Moore 3-1 with a loss to #7
Marsden 1-3, loses to #2, #11, and #20
White 3-1, beating #11 and #19. Think the last guy might just have been to big for the 3rd match in a day.

Malgado with a good 3-0 day

Dalton Moran 1-2

Not really a good weekend for 157. Marsden impressive for an 84 pounder, and Derek White looks really good for a backup 197;)

Obviously it is weekend one but we might be able to field a more complete roster than I thought originally, especially when we get Weigel back.

I would say an up and down 2 days of competition for the team and for certain wrestlers. Definitely some good, some not so good, but with plenty of time to get better. Surprise performer is obviously Derek at heavy.

Derek was literally hungry all last year. 197 was a hard pull for him. Who would have thought that little 126lb high school freshman would be at 245 and rock solid today? He REALLY wants to be good and push for an NCAA title. I think he will be a pleasant surprise this year and next

Looks great so far. I didn't realize he was that tough on top.
