This was pre-NIL. "Doing what it takes" equaled cheating. Things are different now, for better or worse, and we shall see.

Recruiting has always been dog-eat-dog world. Rutgers has always chosen the Chip Hilton route.
But you’re saying “We need to stop making excuses, Georgia Tech should be in our rear view mirror” which doesn’t really make sense for something that happened 8 years ago.
What don’t you understand? Pike needs a time machine and a bag full of cash to make this right. Basic recruiting stuff.

There are so many ways to induce players, their family & friends, and their handlers. It doesn’t require as much crass skullduggery as folks around here think.
Gentle reminder......sorry to interrupt your anti-Rutgers ability to recruit rant - Fact is that RU has 2 or the Top 3 ranked recruits coming in next season.
Reminder #2 - both recruiting and the transfer portal is competitive and requires NIL $$.
Reminder #3 - NIL money does not come directly from Rutgers - rather it comes from benefactors, donors, donor orgs etc, essentially we as fans and donors own that.
