After this season, he will be so damaged he will be in no position to continue. Fair or not.

Pretty easy explain this away 4 injuries to his 6 biggest players and his best player. Or something like that.

No excuses will forgive a bunch of 40 point losses. It will for a few EJ loyalist. The rest of the world doesn't care.

I don't know how easy it is to explain on the recruiting trail. HS kids are just going to see a lot of bad losses.

Sadly, this is all part of the process... of getting a real coach.

There is no way the are going to use that $25MM along with donations leveraged with it and not get a real coach. No one in their right mind is going to donate money to an Eddie run program.

Surefire failure. These complete non competitive @ss kickings will ensure that a new staff is brought in that knows what they are doing.

$25 million is a drop in the bucket at this point. We are light years behind anyone who matters.

Agreed, but it could be used as a springboard, if they were to get it right, which, lets face it, we are talking about Rutgers here. If the school can get it, it most often will.

If I won the full $1.5 billion Powerball I was ready to give $100 million to knock the RAC down, build a new arena in downtown NB, and hire Jeff Van Gundy at $10 million per year.

Can't waste money on a buy out a no big name coach will come. Even an upgrade, a good coach, who can put a .500 team together by year three, won't increase revenue in the first two seasons significantly. You let Eddie run his course, hire a new coach at eddies salary plus the $2 mil you save from buy out and have a big name $3 Mil coach come in with shovels in the ground an 12 scholarship players.

No you don't. And Hobbs won't.

If you keep him here...or God forbid...extend him, you set the program back another 10 years. If we could have dumped him two years ago when it was evident her couldn't coach, we could have avoided some of this.

you are wrong...first of all there will transfers out this year...as bad as it is now it will get worse, no recruit will come play for a lame duck coach. He is fired or extended, no in between

RU isn't getting a true big name coach but they can get a Herb Sendek for $1.5 million as the shovels are in the ground for practice facilities

Sojo -- you're theory ignores that he will have no players left and the AD isn't going to let 40 and 50 point losses become routine. One year, because there will be more this season ... lots of them, will be enough.

Bottom line -- other than Freeman, the injured kids just aren't that good, and there's no one signed who gives the program hope. My gut says Eddie won't resign and Hobbs will hVe to do the dirty deed.

Will make for an interesting future debate of who was the worst coach ever at Rutgers. Littlepaige, Shea, or now Jordan. I think Shea and Littlepaige were better.

His players are publicly defending him. As long as that happens, contributors won't transfer, recruits will feel a good vibe with the program on visits, and Eddie will fill the roster out. I don't believe shovels will be in the ground until after what would/could may/may not be Eddie's 4th season is in the books.

there are transfers every year....Eddie had 3 this past season and its exactly the reasoning I don't give him a pass for the injury issues

Exactly. Other teams suffer through injuries and survive - or at the very least not lose by 50 points at home. If you can't keep people here and/or coach the talent you have to be modestly competitive, that's an indictment of the coaching staff.
