One of the 9 in the "green room" will be the last guy in the room picked (like Cliff), but it's not likely to be as long and as painful a wait. It's 100% that Cliff fell in the draft because of his marijuana use, which back in college was very open as it was throughout Cliff's life. As I have posted previously I knew Cliff personally, acted as his personal chauffeur while we were both students at UConn, and liked the guy a lot. Nobody would care as much about his then marijuana use now in 2023, because it is legal in CT now. But Cliff, although ahead of his time, was living in an era when teams got spooked by guys using drugs. Cliff was drafted a few years after the Celtics used a #2 pick to draft Len Bias, and we all know how that turned out. It scared the **** out of teams.
Cliff stated many times later in his life that he used marijuana to cope with the stress of being an athlete. I actually use it now for sleep.
