Interested in what the wv residents think about this guys flip flop and support of the *inflation reduction“ boondoggle. Seems like it spits in the face of WV energy industries

I think he deserves the Presidential Medal of Freedom, if only to get this thread moved to the politics board.

I have not been a fan of his and always am afraid he has anterior self serving motives in every move he makes. However, my guess is he got most of what he wanted in agreeing to the Inflation Recovery Act. At least I hope he did.

Just the opposite. He’s getting us the much needed Mountain Valley Pipeline. I appreciate what Joe has accomplished.

He's like a lot of other politicians...constantly balancing the interests of his constituents, his state, his country and his personal interests.

Ultimately what this does...besides implementing a lot of really good public policy...is ensure his reelection.

And if you think coal is the future of WV and that's why you don't like the bill its time to wake up to reality.

Does anyone really know what is in the bill ? Or just going by the talking heads and internet? I for one don't have a clue what's in it, just what people say and I expect they don't know either ...

Are you kidding ?? Hell no….

It is much easier to simply hear the talking points from (pick your political party) your echo chamber and assume away.

What “good public policy” is in this bill?

How are you going to get the fuel for your electric vehicle without coal?

The problem is we're spending billions of dollars on things that don't reduce carbon. They're not saving the Earth they're paying donors

It seems like a pretty milquetoast piece of legislature that everyone is wildly overreacting to.

Just think, in just a few short years we will be at the mercy of other countries for the minerals needed to produce all of this wonderful "green" energy.
These minerals are not plentiful in the US, and some are non-existent here. Check out the toxic waste which come from the mining of these necessary minerals as well as their disposal when their usefulness has ended.
Great way to create an abundance of wars in the fight for control in securing these minerals. We have dependable fossil fuels right here which can be used in a much friendlier environmental mode than these so-called green sources. You really want to relegate our country to be dependent on others to maintain our standard of living?

So many people have been fooled by the snake oil sellers. It has been in the works since I was in grade school & that was in the mid 70's .

I know it gives a **** load of cash to the IRS that will result in the Dems continuing to use that agency to attack their political enemies. Fact.

Oh yes adding tens of thousands of IRS agents to go after small business is great policy.
