Near the end of the first half of the UCLA Gonzaga game they were showing the father of a UCLA player and in the row behind the guy was a fan cut out of Joe Boylan. Raferty pointed it out saying the “former Rutgers assistant was a close friend of mine”.

It was a very nice mention by Bill Raftery.
The only slight problem was that Jim Nantz chimed in that Joe had died last year, as if he really did not know that he had just died or was confused.

All three cutouts were probably placed by someone at Loyola (Md), where Boylan was the long-time AD. The first is a recent photo of Boylan, the second is a photo of Boylan when he was a coach, and the third is the Loyola (Md) mascot.
Interesting. I hope the writers look into who got this done. I am curious to know. Very nice tribute.
