The WVU job could have happened back in 2007 had Pastilong not messed it up. He tried to go too cheap and FSU got wind (via the agent Jimmy Sexton).

WV is just fine without Jimbo Fisher. We could throw money at Fisher and still come up with 7 to 8 wins a season. Jimbo ain't the answer. The answer is to put a chicken in every pot. Every administrator, every coach, every player gets a chicken or two. Throw the entire GDP of WV at the football team and you MIGHT get more than 8 wins. Warez

Good grief...another vote for the poor old little WV candidate. Well if 7 or so wins is your expectation and your level of satisfaction then you have the right coach and attitude now.

I don't think it had anything to do with WVU being cheap. He was under contract with FSU as their "coach in waiting" and they, FSU, wouldn't let him out of it.

Please no. He’s very overrated.
He may be overrated but he sure knows how to squeeze money out of his current employer. Who knows if he's actullay interested in T&am but he gets to play one side off against the other just like he did when Lsu pursued him. He's a smart business man.

If he leaves, he is CLUELESS! He'd be going from having to compete against Clemson to having to compete against: LSU, Alabama, and Auburn. That is crazy.

My info is from Jimbo's side. It is from a friend of his since days at Salem. The guy to this day talks to him weekly and vacations with as well as goes to FSU games. He goes to his house. Trust me it is his side and I believe it.

There was a term sheet agreed to by all parties. Jimbo had went home, told his then wife, "let's pack our bags, we're going home!"

Less than an hour later, Pastilong via phone call tells either Jimbo directly or through his agent Jimmy Sexton, there was an agreed bonus for a National Title Game appearance of like $250-500k that WVU wanted to lower. He said he couldn't believe it. It gave FSU Boosters time to sign him long term probably because Sexton was probably working both sides for his client. He said there was no way I could ever work with Pastilong after that.

Btw Jimbo is not long for FSU.

Had he came to WVU, we couldn't have afforded to keep him. He would have been very good given the offensive talent WVU had at the time. He is a very good coach.

very good coach? If he was, he would dominate the ACC. If he were at WVU, he would make Dana look like he was elite. Sorry, but he would win less here

I would love to know how folks distinguish a 'good' HC from a 'bad' HC. The HC doesn't really do much actual coaching. The HC serves more in an administrative role. How do I know this? I have been in the business for most of my life. This ain't heresay. Warez

He has a National Title and is 83-23 with a conference record of 48-17 (5-2 in bowl games) since 2010. If that's not dominating the ACC, what is?!

What are you talking about? He's won a national championship and has competed for others. Has won his division a few times and cranked out a Heisman winner.

I swear, you people think a good coach should win every single game.

The irony with Jimbo to A&M (and it will happen) is it opens up FSU. Top FSU targets are Willie Taggart at Oregon and Fuente at VA Tech.

If Fuente leaves, I wonder who Whit Babcock reaches out to. The trickle down effect is fascinating.

Jimbo Fisher is about to have a rude awakening if he takes the job in College Station.

No one wants to play for a coach who had a wife spreading her legs for every man in town.

I know he is from West Virginia but that does not remove the facts regarding Jimbo Fisher

Since the rumors of his wife came out he is 15-10 and has not just been cucked by his ex wife he has been cucked by most of the ACC, Tom Herman and Nick Saban.

Just look at FSU's recruiting. They are selling their coach to Aggy for 30 million and moving out from him because he is physiologically damaged.

What do you mean IF he takes the job. He's gone, headed to College Station, and according to an acquaintance of mine who has known him since Salem (where they both coached by Terry Bowden), he was gone by mid season. Biggest reason was $$$$$$$ and resources (staff $$$$$$) at A&M vs FSU.

Florida St is about to expose him for the fraud that he is.
Jimbo Fisher by the end of next season will be a hated man by A&M.
They are heading to another 7-5 season but with the info that FSU has on him he might just want to retire from coaching.

More importantly if Jimbo Fisher finds success at A&M it will undermine the Big XII.
The SEC is looking to increase their TV viewership in two states with this move. Florida and Texas.

If the SEC increases their television auidence in Texas it might cause the break up of the Big XII and force West Virginia into the AAC.

In the AAC West Virginia will have their revenue cut in half.

Burden of proof would be on the people who hired him.

Yes, and I have now have had it explained to me. You ain't bonafide! Get offen this here poster board flapping that jaw! Warez

Unless Alabama allows Aggy to win again like they did in 2012 I am expecting bad things to happen early.

Problem is the SEC has changed the schedule and instead of Bama and Aggy playing in October they play in late September in A&M's 2nd SEC game.

Conspiracy aside the lack of decommitments have people wondering who in fact pulled those recruits at the NCAA.

He did all that with Bowden's players :)

Jimbo was a great coach. The thought throughout the football world was that he was a great coach.
Two incidents changed his life
1) Situation with his son. He actually thought about leaving football because of his son.
2) The situation over his wife cheating on him. Divorce happen and the two sons moved out.

Beginning in 2015 Florida State started to unravel.
A little more in 2016. Really begin to unravel in 2017.

Jimbo Fisher in 2017 is not the same coach and recruiter he was in 2011.
For instance Miami and Mark Richt have been bending Fisher over this year in Florida for recruits.

Fisher has not been able to recruit or coach this year.
The belief was that he had already accepted A&M's job in September.
Who knows. Bama's blow out of FSU happened before UCLA's comeback.

He couldn't beat Clemson. He also was blown out by Louisville by 30 points last year. Tom Herman beat him in the Peach Bowl. There was an unexplainable loss to North Carolina.

The general belief was that his wife wanted him to quit coaching and he thought about it and said no.
She started to cheat on him to get him to spend more time at home.
From all reports out of Tallahassee the situation between him and his wife is kind of ugly.
At first she refused to leave Florida. I do not know now.

More importantly in the SEC West 10-3 will get you fired.
