Sure would be nice if we could get a little more concrete info regarding J Williams. It’s possible that could just end up being optimistic, coachspeak and nothing may happen at all with J Williams. I would be a lot more encouraged if we heard something like “NCAA expected to issue ruling on J Williams in next 2 weeks”……would love something more than help is coming on the way reports. It sounds like something may go down with J Williams, but the NCAA also has a habit of not doing anything at all when they want to do nothing at all.
It is always hard to set any kind of timetable when dealing with the NCAA.
Correct, that’s why I don’t understand the sudden mentions today. Did they learn something or hear from the NCAA to expect news??? Maybe……I trust Pike knows something behind the scenes for him to go out of his way and mention a couple of additions coming to help soon.
Posted in the other thread but in 2024, with the portal etc, you absolutely play him now. We need to be competitive this season and get a little momentum going into next. Plus it'll get him used to playing with Mag/Derek/JMike etc
Normally players have 5 years to play 4. He sat out last year so the ncaa would need to give him an extra 6th year. That may or may not be an option.
These are valid points. We don’t need him for a tourney run as that’s not happening, but we do want to get him acclimated. I was hoping that would happen with Gavin too this year, but that has turned into quite the debacle at this point.
