He wanted the job here, he wanted to play here but Coach K $$$$ swayed him away from here. He has nothing against RU
I know many Rutgers “haters” who love the RAC and have nothing but good things to say about watching games there.

Aw Cmon if you were a wisky fan you hated him. And let’s face it his decision to go to Duke after seemingly being an RU lean was a dagger to the program at the time. Bannon never recovered.
As I’ve mentioned on this board before, I think Jay Williams is a cool dude and a good analyst. His high school recruiting stories was out of my scope those years, so I had no idea.

I know it was a different time but can’t fault a guy for choosing Duke in basketball over anybody. Like Alabama in football. It’s the ones that go to Penn State that I scorn !! (Although the BTN guy from psu I forget his name that called the SHU game I think, also loved Rutgers on the broadcast, so who knows ..)
He chose Duke. Most of us if not all with his type of skills would have.done the same damned thing
Personally, screw the Duke stuff - he should have went with his heart. Fine - go to Duke - but to then go and actively recruit a current Rutgers player to come with you? That is BS! Screw Jay. But that he finally showed us respect - good for him. Let’s see if he sticks to that going forward. If so, then I’ll give him more respect.
He showed nothing but love for Rutgers and NJ today. Nice to hear that he has a relationship with Mike Williams.
