In his ESPN+ column today, Jay Bilas has us 20th in the country. Says Ron Harper gets the headlines, but Myles is the man making us really good.

Coming from a guy who did the color of our worst game of the year against Michigan State, that is really saying something. He knows we are good.

Best of Luck,
Groz

He's right about that. Myles is the MVP and it's not even close. Myles has an off night (and I don't mean his offense) or gets into foul trouble and Rutgers has big problems. Anyone else with an off night and the team can still compete.

Was thinking the same thing. He had been really talking us up for a few weeks before that game, bringing us up out of the blue while calling another game in another conference. We rewarded him by pooping the bed in a big way against a team that shouldn't have even been in a game with us at that point.

Really says a lot that he's still openly in our corner.

Agreed. Team falls apart without Myles. So obvious in games we were without Cliff or Myles was in foul trouble. Teams feast when he’s in trouble or off the court.

if Ron can spread the floor and start to hit 3s again it’s gameover for other teams

Just to be a contrarian, I think that an argument for Geo as our MVP could be made, although your point that we could survive better without Geo than without Myles, is a good one. However, we don't go on our current winning run without Geo, imo.

Love Geo and he's the Soul of the team. He's also as clutch at the end of games as we've seen on the Banks for a very long time. However, there are offensive options, especially if RHJ is having a good night, to make up for Geo's production, and certainly alternative defensive options with some good defenders at the Guard position.

Lose Myles defense and rebounding at the post, and I'm not sure what the team does. There really isn't alternative options and not a knock on Cliff's development at this stage.

Our MVP is Myles without a doubt and any offense he provides is just gravy. Other teams’ offensive schemes seem to change depending on whether he is in the game or not and players like Garza and Cockburn would eat us alive without him.
