Was listening to Cbrew and another kid do a season wrap up plus forward look and Chancellor casually mentioned Javin Wright in a discussion of the Rover position next year. Said Javin was brought up in that context on Farley and Jackson's show. Have the incoming kid from OU slide into Wright's spot at LB and have two athletic 6-5 kids operating at the second and third level. Wright's second year and this year qualify as hardship exceptions, so I would think it a no brainer for him to get a 7th year. Given his health history, I doubt the NFL is in the cards. Does he even want to play a 7th season? What's mind blowing is that he didn't play half the season, but finished ninth in tackles this year.

We still need another LB whether it's Javin or moving Dasan. Would be great to see Javin back. If not, we need a LB from the portal still imo.

If he were allowed another year, I think he would definitely play.

Shavers, McCullough would be the starters at LB with MaGahee starting at Jack. Are there a couple of young guys that are ready to be rotational guys? I suspect next year we will see a lot more subbing of an extra DB on passing downs now that Gifford has departed. But the presence of McCullough on the roster and possibly Javin Wright provides a lot more possible player combos in the back 7.

Who plays Rover if Javin doesn't come back though? Not sure Stewart is ready to be that guy.

The LB coach said in an interview that they are working on getting him another year. So, that probably means he wants to come back.

He fills a position of need, so I'd definitely take him back. Has kind of had a tough break with injuries. Not sure if he or Dasan are more suited for rover. But speed, length, athleticism everywhere? Yes please.

Donavan Jones has potential at that position.

I think we could see Neswari starting at Jack (Sherman role) and McGahee seeing time as a pass rusher (Williams role).

Is Nwaneri fast enough for that? Is he 6'6" 275? That would be a huge jack. I envisioned him as more of a Myles Garrett role. Pass rushing DE.

I saw 6’6 257. Sherman is 6’3 245.

Maybe he will play inside as that more athletic DE, like Butler and Leonhardt.

Per Rivals, his reported weight at Mizzou was 255 and was 265 out of HS. Weird. He is either 6-6 or 6-7. Get him to 275 and he becomes a handful at DE.

You are right. Huskers.com has him at 6'7" 255. His recruitment has been super quiet but seeing him on our website makes me feel better.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Stewart got more time but Mccollugh will start somewhere. Basically OLB I’m guessing. This defense will be mostly brand new from players to coaches to style.
