I miss those days too. Just enough tech to be entertained but not enough to be intrusive.

We played outside and used our imaginations to invent games when we weren’t playing sports or riding bikes. Screens and video games are something we did at night or when it rained.

We didn’t know our neighbors’ religion and politics. We didn’t discuss these things in public and people generally got along and could overlook differences and focus on common bonds.

My last complaint is smartphones make it to where everyone is expected to be “available” 24/7.

I liked it when you could only be found by
a) someone calling your landline.
b) someone calling your work landline
c) someone ringing your doorbell
d) a chance encounter in public

Nowadays you can’t even take a dump without the boss texting you, wife blowing up Facebook messenger, kid wanting to FaceTime, and a scammer who bought or stole your info calling about a nonexistent car warranty .. all at the same time.

Grandpa gonna quit yelling at clouds now.
Don't forget the pagers lol. My kids and grandkids cant believe I had a pager lol.

Well it goes back to the pregame at Louisville that there was and still is a locker room certain player issues IMO that was lingering all year. Whether it was a combination of players, coaches etc it was an issue all year
We may never know all the details but something was definitely off. Just compare Pope's first team here with this year. Night and day difference in the player attitudes.

Being an adult and messaging teenagers and people in their early twenties is a different level of pathetic.
These guys aren’t teenagers they’re 20-year-olds and I’m sure the people that messaged these guys they’re young guys. They’re probably students. I mean, I remember what it was like you were in all of all these freaking greats at the University of Kentucky and you wanted to connect with them. That guy made that ask that question could be 15 man. You guys make too many assumptions. It’s usually 15 to 20-year-olds messaging players. Could acting like it’s some hideous Thing. Yeah at first it’s cringe 40-50-60 year olds messaging players on Twitter. Reality is these guys that are being messaged generally are in their 20s. I mean Lowe’s 22 that’s not the best or the wisest thing to do but these guys are pros now man that’s what sets Kentucky apart and that’s what Pope can’t sell. Is how Kentucky prepares you for the NBA. You’re not gonna get that preparation at Arkansas. Even though cals there. Pope needs to go and find players with a sack who can handle the pressure who want the pressure who want want to be solid diamonds at the next level. Like Shea Gilgeous Alexander. If that guy ended up in Florida, he would’ve come off the bench. He wouldn’t have been a first round selection not in year one he would’ve had to play two years. He’s the closest we’ve got to Michael Jordan other than pat Riley who is the Michael Jordan of coaches we failed to use.

Right now, Kentucky is not that program nor do they have the coach to puff their chest and demand those kind of players. With NIL and the transfer portal the blue blood brand doesn't matter.

Did any of these players said thank you to UK, BBN, etc?

Did UK make an official announcement and thank them?

Sahvir Wheeler 2.0, guys with parasocial relationships with our coaches, fought tooth and nail, that said guy was the answer at PG, because the coach "picked him".
