THE GOOD!!!!

The HAWKS REALLY wrestled their A$$es off in this POS ncaa tournament and you can NOT deny this!!!! They were the LAST team with 9 guys still fighting, have SEVEN AAs TWOOO who were in the BLOOD ROUND!!!!

MIKEY KEEPS THE STREAK ALIVE!!!! Think it is 36 years now!!!!

ARNOLD deserves a STATUE or something!!! HATS OFF to this kid!!!! 27th seed AA!!!! Can't wait to see what he does at 174!!!!

AYALA- BLOCK- KENNEDY-KRUETER ALL showed GRIT!!!!

TnT& company had them READY/PEAKING at the right time!!! GIVE CREDIT!!!!

The BAD

With ALL this ^^^^^ IOWA is STILL battling for 4th place and HAWK fans know that is NOT good enough!!! There is a B1G gap between IOWA and F*** st, OakTree St has entered the mix as a team on the rise.

We are losing a good size potion of our line-up with only 1 weight with a guy(ARNOLD 174) ready to TAKE OVER and contend for a TITLE!!!! 165 & 133 are currently HOLES!!!!

The UGLY

IOWA performed as well as one could ask using the season as a barometer!!! <<<<THAT got us "left in the DUST!!!"

Things like WHAT???? what in all hell happened at 197 and 157 leave a BAD taste in my mouth!!! I believe that ANSWERS need to be give honestly!!! Don't have to go into exact details BUTTs, when a 4th rank kid LEAVES, and what APPEARS to be your BEST Wrestler isn't in the line up!?!??! "Answers" such as, well "he is moving on and we wish him luck" and VV3 is getting the nod" does NOT cut it!!!

IOWA fans deserve something more!!! " We had our DOCTOR clear him to go, and he said his doctor said no???" "WILLIAMS got sick/hurt/ abducted by aliens so VV3 is going!!!"

WHAT is IOWAs path forward???? ANOTHER question would be HOW are we going to get back on TOP???? SORRY IF I am the ONLY one NOT seeing the "LIGHT!?!?!" We/IOWA ALWAYS seems to MISS our opportunities. For example I fought to get AJ because I believed the RISK/REWARD was worth it???? As well as ARNOLD has done at 197, AJ wrestling for IOWA at 197, had a good chance to WIN or make the finals!!!

B1Ger then this^^^^ is losing BASSETT and EVERYTHING he brings to the table!!!! IOWA needs a FACE of the program!!! A "new" SUPERMAN LEE!!!! BASSETT WAS THAT GUY!!!!! He brings a RELENTLESS ATTACKING STYLE TWOOOO IOWA!!!! (or would have!!!)

^^^^HERE IS the B1Gest issue!!!! For the MOST part, IOWA is NOT wrestling IOWA STYLE!!!! I believe THAT is the issue and it has to be FIXED ASAP!!! TnT must get on this and say. "Here take a GOOD L O N G HARD LOOK at the way we wretled!!!" THIS is the WAY you ALL will wrestle!!! You ALL will ATTACK and KEEP ATTACKING till the situation dictates otherwise(up by 1 with 10 seconds left) etc.....

SHOOT, SNAP & SPIN, FORCE the ACTION!!!! You may lose, but IF you do, you will lose showing everyone you gave it EVERYTHING you had and left it ALL on the mat!!!!

Look, we ALL want CHAMPIONSHIPS, BUTTs, I believe IF we had 10 CALIENDOs/KENNEDYs fighting their a$$es off EVER match, we could live with that!?!??!

IOWA HAS to get back to IOWA STYLE and build from their!!!! Have a GR8 group of kids coming in with a pretty solid core in the room to build with. Can NOT have a dance around, NO shots, zero -zero 1st period product on the mat!!!!

1) INJURIES!!!! I guess put under the BAD!!! IOWA was HURT/SICK at some point at 124, 133, 141, 149, 157(I a$$Ume) 184, 197 and Heavy!!! NOT GOOD!!!! Has been an issue for WAY to L O N G!!!!

TWOOOO) RECRUITING have to IDENTIFY and GET the HAMMERS and the SUPER FREAKS!!!! I mean there are HAMMERS and then there are NEXT LEVEL kids which we are seeing more and more these days.

THREEEEE) Have to find a way to have and offer what F*** st and now OakTree St are. F*** st can not have twice the $$$$$ and you expect to not only catch them BUTTs also pass!!!!

TnT have OUT PERFORMED everyone who is NOT a lying, cheating POS named Krailure!!!! When he got Fat$$$Mans cash and the FREE rein to use it. There was SOME rumbling from various coaches and such, but NOT enough for it to matter to POS ncaa!!!

Brands said somethings, Tom Ryan said something because they SAW what was happening!!! In the beginning for example, there was NO real reason outside of the PAYOFFs to go to F*** st. Ohio st won a title as did IOWA and both teams had no UP TICK as far as recruits!!! In fact, it only got worse!!!!

For me, the questions are why does our team NOT seem to be able to play by the RULES of some other teams? WHAT is the Wrestling teams % of revenue sharing?

IOWAs budget is said to be @ 4 MIL F*** st about DOUBLE at 8 mil HOW is ANYONE going to close the gap???

You are NOT going to replace TnT with ANYONE that is going to RAISE the bar under these^^^^ conditions!!!! Just a FACT!!!!

AND get off DTs D with his BILLIONAIRE backing!!!! FINE TWOOO give him credit but PLEASE do NOT pretend he isn't bringing some B1G talent!!! Look at JAX, committed, TRAINED there, won a title!!!! How nice !!!!!

Respectable (average) finish to a bad year. 4th place NCAAs, 7 AAs, 1 finalist, 91.5 points.

Adding 2026 NCAA stats to career tallies:

Brands (19 seasons) = 90.0
Zalesky (9 seasons) = 91.3
Gable (21 seasons) = 120.7
Sanderson (16 seasons): 128.9

The fundamental arguments for coaching change remain largely unchanged, but were exacerbated by several factors this year:
(1) Tom's stats weren't acceptable under the Gable regime or the Zalesky regime. This was yet another year that his stats didn't improve, and are stubbornly hewing slightly below Zalesky's.
(2) Tom perennially lacks the "hammers" to be a title contender. (Even '21 wouldn't have happened without the serendipitous gift of Eierman's 19.5 points.) This year was more of the same. His 3 champs in the past 10 seasons is equal to Ok State's haul THIS YEAR, and very close to Sanderson's SEASON AVERAGE across 16 seasons!
(3) 6 dual losses in a single season. (Zalesky was fired for 7 losses & 4th place finish @ NCAAs with 0 champs.)
(4) Ticket sales & attendance down
(5) HWC not competitive (though a decent year so far)
(6) Iowa will not be vying for 1st or 2nd for at least the next 4 years. 6 of Ok St's starters were freshmen (4 true, 1 redshirt). 6 of Penn St's starters were freshmen or sophs (2 true fr, 1 redshirt, 3 sophs). Both have more talent coming in next year. Iowa loses its top 3 point scorers from this season, and next year could be brutal.

These are the stats. The only thing that's subjective is whether or not this level of performance--not great but not horrible--is acceptable for the Iowa program. It appears that we have slowly and steadily grown used to it, so the answer is likely yes.

Kudos and congrats to the wrestlers and coaches for a gutsy performance at NCAAs. There was some good wrestling, and it was a fun tournament to watch.
