Thiam out of nowhere with 4 giant threes today in limited minutes and came up with huge buckets when we needed them in both halves.

3 straight at the end of the 1st half and 1 with almost nothing left on the clock in the 2nd half.

This isn’t a thread to talk about his play this season or his missed bunnies today - just an appreciated thread. We may have not won tonight without those buckets.

I am SO HAPPY for Issa. He knocked down 4 three's and scored 13 points. If he can grow from this and become that kind of bench player, there is no need for him to transfer. The reason I say that, is because he had been pushed out, because he was a non-factor this year. I hope he can grow from this great game and keep his focus as to what he can do for this team moving forward. Kudos to Thiam today.

Yes - props to him. Was an excellent game by him and much needed for his confidence. This game should really help him moving forward.

So happy for him. Rutgers staff stayed with him even when it looked like he couldn’t do it. He may be starting to show what the staff was hoping for. Played well on D too.

I feel so happy for this kid. Nothing better than watching a player who seemingly hit rock bottom on the confidence chart pick himself up and come up with a game like he had today. From all indications he's a terrific kid and team mate and deserves the kind words and thoughts he's received today. Good things happen to good people.

Please explain your statement "he had been pushed out, because he was a non factor this year. When and where was he pushed out of and to where.

At the beginning of the year, Issa actually started. Then as the freshmen became more seasoned, Thiam had regressed to the point where he pretty much disappeared out on the court even when he did get minutes. Then as the season has progressed his minutes have shrunk even further, because he wasn't getting it done on offense.

Today, was different. He not only played good defense, but as we saw he knocked down 4 threes and made 1 of 2 FT's.

This should answer what I meant by that.

The freshman pushed Kiss and Thiam back to the end of the rotation but Kiss has played better D and contributed a bit more lately and now Thiam finally has a breakout game. If Thiam and Kiss can hit a few threes a game and give us quality minutes we are going to do some damage at the B1G tournament.

yes I thought that is what you meant but some on here have been saying he should transfer. Thought maybe that is what you were referring to

just love this kid and sooooo happy for him and the team

I know many (including myself) feel that this team is missing a sniper to take that next step. I would LOVE for that option to be a mix of Issa and Kiss. I really would.

this team is just so damn easy to root for.

GO ISSA GO!!!

He never hung his head about the lack of playing time and was ready when coach needed him. We did a real good job with ball movement and got the ball to Issa in some space. He had a big game last year at home vs Iowa too. He's a stellar teammate!

He adds another dimension in the conference tourney. At tall wing defender and if he gets hot, watch out!

Watching him snap those wrists from the corner was my favorite part of the game!
