Is this a pattern that is developing?

We appear to spend all our energy trying to catch up. Brings back opposite memories of our elite eight team who were ahead at almost every halftime that year.

I want to know what happened in that locker room at halftime, and why did that same energy not come out in the first half. Thos were two totally different teams in that game. It was a Tale of Two Halves.

Most importantly we started scoring.
That is the be all/end all in basketball. Everything else we talk about here, defense, rebounding, passing, etc is a means to an end, putting the ball in the hole. If that last thing doesn’t happen then in the end everything before it is a failure. We‘ve had people rag on our point guards for years for their assist numbers but you can make the perfect pass every time and If the guy receiving doesn’t make the basket there is no assist.

There are a lot of things that have to go right to win, or looking at it the other way, there are a lot of things that can go wrong to make you lose. There's a long chain of things that have to be done right to get a lot, and good, shots, and you need the talent to make them. If you screw a bunch of them up a little or a few up a lot, you won't win Right now, we're screwing too many things up. Players can control some of those things to some extent but almost all of them can be controlled as much or more by the coach.

easy... just (mentally) add 20 to the opponents score at 00:00. Play to that score the whole game.

No one else has to know..

I have actually seen that done on a portable scoreboard near the bench. That is the only scoreboard the players can look at or they are out of the game. It can make a difference.
