Yep. Crazy, really, to think that 3 of the 4 teams have QBs who started off their careers at another high profile university.
I still have no idea why Fields was ever granted immediate eligibility to play this year at OSU. The NCAA is such a joke. There was another player that wanted to transfer closer to home to be able to be close to a sick relative and the NCAA said no on immediate eligibility. Allegedly you get called a racist name and they allow you to be eligible immediately.
who cares....he used his redshirt...why can't he transfer? I would say that if a kid has a redshirt they could force a year to sit out, but Georgia forced him to sit out his freshman year, when he was obviously talented enough to play, and so he transferred. Making him sit out another year just to keep power in the hands of coaches is silly. We all know the players determine the championships...why can't they have power to go where they want?
This does push the narrative that transferring is better than sitting and that coaches don't always pick the right guy for #1. If I was a coach I would use a lot more two qb systems... fields could have been at georgia and played half the snaps and won the job by now, instead they liked Fromm's "poise".
Fields played in 12 games his true freshman year in 2018. He didn't redshirt.

If a kid on that is researching a cure for cancer can transfer and still research...then dudes playing sports should be able to do the same thing.
Fields used the actions of a Georgia baseball player making some racial statements to leave IIRC.
I wouldn’t care if they enforced the rule evenly, like the example I gave, but they obviously don’t. Just like Shamiel Stevenson on the basketball team. He went thru 2 coaching changes and wasn’t allowed to be eligible this year. But other people are ruled eligible for less things.
