Unfortunately I have to agree with you. Have to put up with the trash talk-“Get them next year”!

The clones winning at Purdue makes them world beaters now. Because Purdue is really that good..huh..
Seems like the same script, different year for the clones..

This is one of the 6 games that I have Iowa with no chance of winning, along with Michigan St, Michigan, Purdue and Illinois. Give McCollum a couple of years to improve his young players and get Iowa on the same level of competitiveness with these mega spenders. Until then win the games that are winnable and hopefully Ben can pull a rabbit out of a$$. That's all you can hope for. You don't win 82% of the games you coach without knowing what you're doing, I believe in our new coach, but it will take time.

Yeah I think this game will be a slaughter. We lose by 20+ points.

Why are all the matchups this year in Lames anyway? Kinda BS...

Be competitive and have fun.
We have plenty of extra staffers for the men's basketball team. Just have them get into as many fights as possible with nearby Iowa State fans, and get their crowd kicked out of the arena, and watch the complexion of that game change.

It's our only hope, honestly. Let's see if our assistants do the right thing and "take one for the team". We can always rehire them at a later date...................... ;)

Well, I mean has it always been this way with the odd years on the road?.............................................................................................................................................................................just sayin.

Is that right? It seems like it varied from time to time so I could be wrong. Seems crazy to have all the big time sports in one city each year. Mens basketball, football, wrestling and womens basketball all in Ames this year.

Why not split it up?

It's apparently been that way for decades.

Only volleyball and soccer are flipped, and men's and women's cross country is at whatever site they meet together at in a given year (this year was in Stillwater, OK). Last year was in Peoria, IL.

Hopefully the score is still 'competitive' at halftime, to bother keep watching the 2nd.

Best I can hope for, I'm afraid.

As a clone fan, I'm a bit nervous for this one. Not only am I worried about a letdown after a big road win, but McCollum has the Hawks playing solid ball. I really respect the impact he's had on this team, and it feels like there's excitement for the program again.

I hope it's a good game with no injuries on either side.

Thanks for being respectful, but as much as it displeases me, you guys will likely be fine tonight. If the Hawks can keep the final deficit within 15, it'll be a major moral victory for them and the fandom.

Agree with you about hoping for no injuries.

Maybe, maybe not. The season isn't over for the Women's basketball team. The season isn't over for the football team either. The Cyclones are out a coach and looking to rebuild bigtime. I would say Iowa had the better year in that respect.

Mens Basketball TBD.

Iowa needs to come out early and accidentally fall into a few people's knees. That's my keys to victory.

Yah, I turned the MSU game off with 15 minutes to play. I hope the Hawkeyes are able to implement some of the lessons learned from that game to at least keep this one competitive. I wanna believe, but in year one this one tonight just seems all but impossible. But we can hope.

Yeah, this will stay ugly once it gets that way.

ISU always wants this game badly, they're at home and the crowd is gonna be nuts. Then there's always the 8-on-5 aspect to have to fight through.

Best thing that can happen from tonight is writing this one off ASAP and come back Sunday & beat Western Michigan by 25+.

Tonight should be the cherry on top of cyclone sports dominance over Iowa this fall.

ISU wins 83-69
They better enjoy it while they can as their football program will be in the dumpster going forward.

You’re damn right Iowa fans are excited about the future of both our basketball teams and football. I don’t personally care about wrestling. 🥴 I’ll be laughing at cyclown football for the foreseeable future.
