Impressive road trip. Not because Oregon and Washington are so very good, but to go on the road for an extended period and beat B1G teams that had a lot of talent on their home floor is pretty impressive for an Iowa basketball team.

Especially UW. They appeared to be bigger, faster and more athletic than our Hawkeyes, but BMac Ball wore them down.

Really great work Hawks!

So does coaching.
Ben makes no excuses for anything. That is ingrained into his players.

Hey, most of you came from little old Drake? We have to travel 2,000 miles and play games at weird times? The officials are incompetent? The other team is bigger, faster, and more experienced? Win anyway.

And they usually do.

Beth made one of the best hires in University of Iowa sports history when she dialed up Ben McCollom. We see it every game. As long as he's in Iowa City, no Iowa fan will ever have to apologize for lack of effort or anything else. This is the guy we've been waiting for. Man, I love it.

Can you imagine if McCollum had come to Iowa instead of Northwest Missouri St back in the day, we'd have a John Wooden clone as our coach. As it is I'm glad the Beth made the right choice when she did, the future is bright for Iowa basketball, just hope the fan base and students can realize what a gem they have as their coach of Iowa basketball, and start attending the games, the man deserves that much for sure. The national attention is beginning to take notice too and reutilize that Iowa has a winner in Ben McCollum.
