I think they average like 55ish in the recruiting rankings from 2013 on. He's getting a lot out of a little over there in Ames. I don't see him being there for too long.

He is going to get a lotto ticket...the only question will be if he wants to sign it.

Campbell is just getting started in Ames. You need to coachshop in some other town.

Why would he go to some remote B1G outpost that nobody cares about when he is waiting for tOSU job?

problem with Campbell is his buyout. According to FootballScoop.com if he leaves he owes Iowa State for his entire contract which is 9.5 to 12.5 million. I don't see anyone paying that plus the 4-5 million a year to hire him. Thats 14 to 17 million in the first year alone.

NU from VT would seem to be a lateral move, if anything.

VT has advantages when it comes to recruiting. NU has an edge in that it plays in a far less competitive division in its conference. The floor overall would seem to be higher in the BIG, but the ceiling seems to be higher in the ACC.

I'm not sure how much history and tradition factor into the attractiveness of a job. When it inflates fan expectations to an unreasonable level, as is apparent here at times (no, I'm not saying right now, eight games into the season is one of those times), it would seem to be a detriment. In any case, NU would have the edge, but VT is no slouch when it comes to history and tradition.

He went to Ames. A place that less than nobody cares about. He can make more money elsewhere while waiting for the tOSU job to open up.

Jamie Pollard ISU AD came from Wisconsin. Get the ties with SE. Pollard and Campbell are pretty tight.
