He’s a pretty good player. Thought he should’ve gone to the portal last year.

Eh, career 62% pass completion in the FCS. Considerably regressed this year. If he was worried about his draft stock coming out this year, just wait until 1 year in the Iowa offense lol. Iowa just loves blowing their NIL money. Instead of building on their defense (losing like 8 guys) they bust their nut on a 1 year FCS quarterback with no one to throw to and no AA RB to rely on. Oh, never change Iowa! This should go, just about as good as the Cade McNamara experiment.

No nut to bust. That program is programmatic eunuch.

SDSU had one WR that could get open sometimes. He’s a solid QB.

I've said this before but Nebraska can improve through the portal and still lose ground. The environment isn't static. Our competition is getting better too. As long as Raiola gets better, the Huskers are good.

Easily the best QB they've had in years
That's not saying much. Why Iowa would go after an above average 1 year rental, when there are way better options, with more years sitting out there. This is typical Iowa NIL fumbling the bag, it tends to happen when you become desperate.

They've sucked on offense for years but now they are making a play to not suck. I'm not saying it will work, they'll probably be the same team next year, but they are trying. Ferentz can't help himself.

Care to share the other better options?

Think this is KF pushing all his chips in. They’ll try to run a RPO with MG and hope to scratch out a winning record with their schedule. IMO he calls it quits with the hope to go out a winner. His backers will praise his loyalty, determination and fight to the very last snap.

It's not too hard to look up the transfer portal. Type in "transfer portal" into Google. Click on "2025 College Football Transfer Portal". Go to "Search by position". Click "QB". Enjoy.
You’re just making crap up. I want you to tell me who on that list is better. You won’t because you can’t. And you’ll hide behind another foolish comment like you just did.

Phil Parker has been there since 99. They will be good on defense until he leaves.

Good get Iowa. If their Oline continues to develop they could have a decent squad. Obviously B1G is a big step up - but I don’t think they will ask him to do too much and what they will need him to do he should be really good at. Anxious to see how it unfolds and how he looks running for his life at Memorial Stadium!

I thought he was a redshirt senior. What’s Sullivan going to do now? Thought I seen McNamara was returning too from the portal

Depends on what you're looking for in the portal. If it's truly a one and done QB. Mathew Sluka would've been my pick of the remaining QBs. Then look at all the other QBs in the portal that committed elsewhere. Instead, Iowa sat on their hands and got an FCS quarterback that regressed in his final year and barely completed 60% of his throws (with an All-American WR, RB, C, and OT). I think we both know Iowa has nowhere near that talent on offense, coupled with playing in the B1G, this could be another botched NIL for the Herky's.

Have you ever watched Gronowski play instead of just looking at his stats? He’s the ONE guy nobody from that fanbase wanted to enter the portal. Their largest booster told me last summer that he doubted he could donate enough to keep him. He thought he would go to a P4 program to prove he could play against better competition.

I have seen him play. He's a good FCS quarterback. There's probably a reason why he only took one visit and that was to Iowa. Doesn't seem like too many FBS teams were knocking on his door, except for the team with the 130th ranked passing offense. Seems like Iowa found themselves in a bidding war with themselves.

The portal as we know it will be stealing players that are gems from the FCS to the FBS..

Good pick up for them in a position of need where they have failed of late is one of the reason why they’ve had a terrible offense.

Ridicule Ferentz and Iowa all we want. Their crappy offense has put a few QBs in the NFL. Gronowski is an upgrade for them.

Who else besides Ricki Stanzi?
Drew Tate, Brad Banks and Stanzi are the three best QB Ferentz had.
