Did we get any calls the last 8 min of the half? My goodness....our guys getting knocked all around and no calls. Connor stays vertical and contests shot and gets called for mystery foul?

Just thankful Kris was able to navigate the half with 1 foul.

Iowa couldn't have asked for a better opportunity to knock off MSU. Instead they _____ the game away. If Connor is going to get so much PT the dude needs to shoot the ball. Not singling him out but he has shot the ball much better this season yet passes up wide open shots to get worse or no shot. Perkins has checked out. Would not surprise me if he hits the portal.

They had em and let em off the hook. The moving Pancake screen to free Hauser for a 3 was my favorite no call. That kid could move to LT for Kirk. Great game plan, effort and mental toughness. A couple of breaks and they fly home on cloud 9. Was impressed by the game plan and composure of Fran. Iowa is going to have to find a way to score it more consistently when a team is physical enough to take Kris away. Great game to watch. Iowa needs 6 or 7 more regular season wins to get in the dance.

Another heartbreaker for the Hawkeyes. Unlike @ OSU, no one can fault the effort or the energy, but Iowa simply couldn't come up with a key play down the stretch. It was 59 apiece for a long time, and neither team could get the ball in the basket until, of course, MSU did, and that was the ball game.

Congrats to Uhlis for playing the best game of his career. Rebraca brought it as he always does, and he showed some terrific new moves around the basket. Unfortunately, the ball often failed to go in for him which, of course, really hurt. The Hawkeyes didn't get many FTs, and when they did, they missed most of the time, including a key 1-1 late, and that was a killer.

For us long-time Iowa fans, this was just one more gut punch. The guys gave it the effort we've been asking for, but the ball just wouldn't go in the basket enough. And yes, that last play Fran drew up was perfect. They got exactly what they wanted, but this time there was no happy ending. Such is Big Ten basketball. Such is life.

All the guys can do is come back to Carver on Sunday and take down Rutgers again, continue to win at home and see what happens. But no doubt about it--after taking a 10-0 lead in East Lansing--this one hurts.
