Evening, all. Lexington native. I visit often but haven't lived there in about 12 years. I'm active duty Navy and there's not a lot of opportunity to get stationed in KY. Tates Creek grad and a couple of unsuccessful years at U.K. I was bred early to be a U.K. fan by my dad who was a swimmer there in the mid-late sixties. He started taking me to games at Rupp in the mid 80s when I was finally big enough to climb the steep stairs to the upper level.
I've been reading this board for years now. Honestly I don't know how long but it has to be at least 7 or 8. I was definitely reading long before our last national title. I figured it was time that I register for an account and contribute a little. I don't have much to say right now....except some may be surprised how widespread UK fans are. I had a great coverstion with a fan in Prague last year. I've also met fans in Singapore, Milan, Hong Kong and even Jebel Ali, UAE. I can't think of many places the Navy has taken me where I haven't seen at least one person wearing a U.K. tshirt.
I won't be a daily poster, but at least now I can chip in from time to time when a conversation piques my interest. Looking forward to the game tomorrow night. Go Cats!
