Dana Holgorsen, West Virginia is 23-24 in Big 12 conference games, including a 12-11 record at home. Sounds like the definition of middle of the pack lol. Hopefully this week he moves to .500 in the conference. Now if he can just get a another seven or eight years here it is hard to tell what can be achieved. Lots of participation trophies out there.

LET'S LOOK AT THE RECORD

Dana is only 7th among Big 12 football coaches in his take-home pay.

He has performed above his pay grade (7th) 4 of the past 5 seasons and may do the same this year.

2016 Tied for 2nd with Oklahoma State

2015 Tied for 5th with Texas Tech

2014 Tied for 4th with Oklahoma and Texas

2013 Tied for 7th with TCU and Iowa State

2012 Tied for 5th with Baylor, Texas Tech and TCU

Big 12 football coaches’ salaries:

  1. $5.25 million Tom Herman, Texas

  2. $4 million and change Gary Patterson, TCU

  3. $3.775 million Mike Gundy, Oklahoma State

  4. $3.3 million Kliff Kingsbury, Texas Tech

  5. $3.1 million Bill Snyder, Kansas State

  6. $3.1 million Lincoln Riley, Oklahoma

  7. $2.98 million Dana Holgorsen, WVU

  8. $2 million Matt Campbell, Iowa State

  9. $801,109 Dave Beaty, Kansas

  10. Not available Matt Rhule, Baylor

Alabama’s Nick “Brother” Saban gets $11.125 million.

But don't the facts get in the way of your irate opinions.

So, are you saying if we pay DH more we will get better results?

Clever misdirection.

I am saying that, for what WVU can afford, Dana is producing above his pay grade. If you want better then you have to get Nick Saban and pay his price. You don't get steak for hamburger prices.

We are what we are. We do more with less.

But we have less, in money, than 6 other Big 12 schools. So, if you use that measuring stick of "bang for the buck," Dana has out-performed his pay grade.

Look, like everyone else I want WVU to win the national title as often as Brother does. But it won't happen because we wish it.

And Dana's finishes in Big 12 standings is every bit as comparable to Rich's and Don's in the Big East, given the relative differences in strength of competition.

Just enjoy the damn ride and stop complaining about every bump in the road.

Mountaineer football is the best sports bargain in my life!

I can't wait to be in Mountaineer Field for the Texas Tech game!

Doesn't sound like misdirection by the poster to me. You clearly cited pay and wins etc in your post. So if we would just pay DH $500,000 to $2,000,000 more we could expect one to four more wins a year? The guys is overpaid for his under performance now. Your logic...or lack of...is showing...again.

By the way...you must post under Tallmadgeers on another site huh...since your posts on this subject are exactly the same...to include your pre and post descriptions of each game. lol.

He gets the big red font here so he's happy. The other place doesn't seem to have the big red font. Poor guy.
