Was anyone else worried they might flag Gronowski for intentional grounding on that 3rd down close to the endzone at the end of the game before he ran it in on 4th down? He literally threw the ball in the endzone and no one was there lol.

Then got away with a delay of game on 4th down! THANK GOD. Great game but obviously a tough loss. Iowa is right there with the top teams this year.

Worried why?

It’s a spot foul with a loss of down. It would have been, at most, a half yard back and 4th down. Basically the same result of the play.

As for the play clock…. The clock on the TV isn’t always accurate with the clock on the field and even if it was, you still get a full second once the clock hits 0 (there are milliseconds not shown on the play clock).

Iowa got the play off in time.

The player who was to release got blocked.

It wasn't intentional grounding, and all the Oregon fans and media sites complaining about it are revealing how ignorant they are.

I could be wrong, but I think it would have been a loss of down and 5 yard penalty…😎

In the NCAA is just a spot foul. No Yardage other than the spot of the infraction.

I believe the NFL is 10 yards or spot whichever is greater.

High School is 5 yards.

***Picture is hard to read but its like 6 down. Loss of Down (spot of foul).

Absolutely was grounding but as pointed out, would have had no effect on anything if it had been called. Not a single receiver released down field, MG was in the pocket and threw it nowhere near an eligible receiver

The receiver was trying but he was being blocked/held. Need to watch the replay to see if it was holding.
