Saw a post on twitter today of a big man from Angola... someon posted a pic of him, and tagged him in a RU Jersey with the hashtag "ni@@a we made it".

Anything to this? Sorry I didn't get the other details in the post..., I clicked on the name to see who it was, when I went back to grab the tweet it was gone.

Since I am not so much a BB guy I will ask this question...

Is the importance of defense more of an American game thing? Because it seems now when guys (of all sizes) come to the US to play (whether it be college or pro) than can all shoot but maybe not so much on the defensive side.

Depends on where the kid comes from. Euros & Australians tend to be very fundamentally sound and can shoot.

African kids tend to be able to run, jump & dunk. Some of the 6-foot-8 & taller Africans tend to have some rebounding and shot blocking ability but lack defensive fundamentals. They initially get by due to their size, length and athleticism.

Some of us stray over from the football boards from time to time as supporters of all RU sports. E5fdny has put in many miles here.

e5fdny might not be as big as a MBB fan as an RU FB one, but he supports RU's MBB program and wants the best for it.
aThat's a great reason for RU MBB fans to what him and others like e5fdny posting on this board.
JB , I don't know that much about your RU MBB fan-hood or how strongly you support the program, but hope you prove to be as big as a RU MBB fan that e5fdny has proven to be.

My kids are learning by example. They have been to RU football, LAX, men's BB, softball and wrestling this past year. Maybe it's hereditary.
