More so Indiana is not that great than Minnesota is good. Minnesota still in for a very rough year.

There is a clear top 3-4, 9-10 or so in the middle and probably a bottom 5. Anyone in the middle can be beat any night by anyone.

Yeah - that sounds about right. The middle of the pack might be able to knock off the top on a given day, but from the early going it looks like it’s going to be tough for most conference teams to take them down. I’m not sure yet how big the gap is from bottom 5 to middle of the pack.

A sizable percentage of games for everyone could come down to which team has the hot hand from deep. We can basically pencil in a loss in any remaining game where we shoot under 30% from 3 and our opponent hits 40%+. If that happens vs Penn the outcome will be the same as CC. I don’t know how often the reverse scenerio will be true (UNLV game), but when we shoot well and our opponent doesn’t, the reverse will generally be true - we’ll have a good chance to win as long as we’re not playing one of those top 3-4 teams that can beat us inside regardless. In games where neither team stands out as shooting materially better or worse from the outside, we’ll generally be the less talented underdog but not necessarily as disdvantaged as we initially thought. We held our own vs ND because J Mike shot well to neutralize ND. It’s only one game so not enough data out there yet.

Indiana is 30 points better than Minnesota. It doesn't mean anything but I decided to post it anyway, 😂 😂

its not easy to win on the road in this league. Indiana doing Indiana things but its a different regime. RU has them at the RAC and that will be a game that if RU rises to the occasion they can pull it off. Good on Minnesota, they will struggle this year but they have a very very good coach that likely puts them in position to move to midpack in coming years.

I think there might just be a "top 2" (Purdue/Michigan), a next tier of 3-4 good teams (Illinois etc.), a fat middle with about 9 or 10 teams, and then a clear bottom 2 (Rutgers/Penn State), with Minnesota a swing team between the clear bottom rung and the lower part of the fat middle.

Legitimate top 10 teams , Michigan , Purdue , Michigan State . The next tier borderline ranked teams , Illinois , USC, Wisconsin, UCLA and Ohio state. The next tier Iowa, Indiana , Nebraska and Washington. The last tier Northwestern , Oregon Maryland Penn State , Rutgers and Minnesota. We should compete for wins against the bottom tier . At home we will have a chance against the tier above. Not sure home or away we will beat the top 2 tiers. Need Pike to get his rotations right and need Dylan offense to be prioritized. Just some of many things. Buchanan and Nwuili becoming starters or major contributors from here on in and give us a chance and better defense. No more Fall , no more Ware ( redshirt ) , less Francis , more Zrno , less Badalau .

Can Ware redshirt? He’s already played this season. I thought the game count thing was only for football.

You might be correct. What I meant to say is he is not ready . He needs more time and development.
