go ahead and blame me.
I said I wanted a more run option offense since dr. tom retired
and appertly I haven't been vocal enough

it would help with alot of things, making o-linemen, rb's, mobile qb's, even help our defense learn how to tackle in practice, let alone controll the clock and stack w's...

what we have here is a lack of communication
alot of pass happy fans in Lincoln with their immobile qb in the collapsing pocket, in rainbow uniforms, want to learn the hard way.
so thats what we got, and are gettin, and will get till we as a group learn...how to Make Nebraska Football Great Again!

Run the damn ball!

I could not agree with you more. The thing is, our passing attack back in the glory years was very effective. We did not throw the ball a ton but when we did, we usually were good at it. You build an offense or defense from the line outward. If your line is bad then your going to fail. Period. At one point last year we had 18 O linemen on the roster. And now, a year later we have no depth? WTF......

The option went away for a reason...namely nobody can run it any more because nobody runs it anymore. And NIL/Transfer portal has made it worse because kids need to play in the system for years to get comfortable with the ball handling. There is a short window here where a super power team could find success as teams are trending towards more nickel defense, but teams like Iowa have tried it, and been some of the worst offenses in the country. Being able to throw and catch the ball is just super important and super limited, and you don't realize it until you don't have decent Wrs and Qbs anymore. Nebraska won because it used massive amounts of steroids to create mutant offensive lineman who were designed for the option attack and spent 3 years preparing to play two years. Then we went out and got a qb who couldn't throw but could pitch and some RB talent. And then paid and roided out the best defense possible. Just isn't going to happen again.

I disagree, teams like oklahoma, miami, colorado, etc were more known for steroids and under the table cash payments.
Nebraska had a system where they would build linemen from the ground up with weights, repetition and good clean honest living..

and here's the most disturbing thing about pass happy fans mentality:

150 pound emmit, with 2nd rate pass blockers for the most part and a qb with concrete shoes could run on usc..

ponder that..

then imagine sanity entering where a frazier/ lp/ fullback were running behind a pipe line with recivers who could block...and coaches who could call plays and manage a game...

it would probably be called at half time like a millard south game..

again, it's my fault for lack of communication with the Lincoln home office
