If Keytaon was starting - what would be our record?

Thanks for keeping me straight. I didn't realize there were so many successful QB transfers. Still, I don't think State was a good place to try it, at least not now. KT was poised to have his run at it, and I'm not sure the competition in fall camp was enough to deny him that chance. Stevens may have known Moorhead's offense, but KT knew this team and what it was like to play in the SEC.

5-2. Keytaon is the best Qb on campus. Moorhead just doesn't know how to use him correctly.

if Knox was running the show--at least 5-2. our Skeleton coaching staff was twice as good as our staff now.

last year-if we run the old Relf offense we win 11 games. Just read the DE and Fitz runs it or give to Hill or A-train. Maybe put a big *** full-back in the game. only throw play-action passes and screens. with our defense we would have been hell-on-wheels.

That's something I hadn't really thought much about. How do you not find a way to utilize the strengths of the best QB depth state has ever had. They may not be the downfield bomb throwing QBs Moorhead wanted, but they can make plays and be effective.

yep, all except fitz were highly rated dual threat qb's. Everyone hates on KT but he was Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year. Mayden was highly touted recruit from the suburbs of Dallas and known as a pretty good passer actually. He broke a lot of his school records in passing. some of the videos i've seen of him, he was pretty accurate and a good runner. I just can't believe he couldn't use any of these guys efficiently. i don't know if he felt pushed to get his guy that he thought would make his system work or what. As i've seen other posters say good coaches can take your guys and whip his players. I just don't get how he was labled an offensive genius and he can't even use the highly recruited dual threat qb room we had.

I posted this b4, right after we signed TS, and will say again...that first game in Joe's system vs SFA should be viewed in context. Not only every offensive position still learning it and trying in live action for the first time, but Joe clearly

having decided going into that game he was going to force the pass, no matter what.

Not sure what your point is. All I was saying was that we don't have enough information on KT to know how well he would perform in JoMo's offense. Even if he had played lights out against SFA, it was SFA. Hard to get a read on that.

I think its clear JoMo doesn't want to use KT as his QB. Whether it is his performance in practices or some other issue is anyone's guess. But no one outside the program has enough information to state that KT would be any better -- or any worse -- than Stevens and Shrader have been so far.

I would say that losing Stevens against K-State cost us that game, or at least the chance to win that game. Not a knock against Shrader since that was his first serious action, but he did not complete a pass in the 4th quarter of that game. And I know the team didn't play great in the first half, but I still think a healthy Stevens gives us a better chance to win that game.

I don't know how anyone can say having KT as our starter would have made a difference in that game. I mean, it MIGHT have, but there is not enough evidence to make that claim.

What evidence do you have to back up that claim? Not the Moorhead doesn't know part, but the KT is the best QB on campus part.
