The MBB program is dreadful right now. But a thought? (apologize if someone brought this up in the past)

For a change of pace venue. Could we play a game at the Barn? (would require some checking, shot clock, wall boundry safety etc).

Play it very early in the year, on a school friday night verses a NJ school (not Princeton or SH) but a Rider, St. Pete's, FDU, Monmouth, NJIT etc. Be perfect if the football team had a home game the next day. Make it a festival type night with tents set up on College Ave A big screen with the game on, with some outlets for Food and Music. I am sure the bars around College Ave could join in. Promote the game as fun old skool (Hoosiers type deal). Even have the opponent get involved and have a tent outside from their school. Sell it out, maybe even charge a premium for some seats and have a charity angle for one of the hospitals.

If we made it an annual deal, it could be a fun night, and create some business in New Brunswick. Some of those early games at RAC right now verses these type opponents are very dead.

I am sure the board has some even more ideas, and there may be more to the logistics and facility side of this then I know. But I run the Big Chill 5k most years and it is a great environment that morning at the barn....

Not a bad idea for the early season scrimmage.
Invite some of those players from that era as well 19??-1977).
Bake up some "paint chips" to drop from the ceiling to encourage the crowd to get loud.
The coaches and team can go to Patty's (now The Olive Branch) after the game.

It could be embarrassing. By the middle of next season EJ and the boys may not be able to pack the Barn.

A full Barn would be much cooler and more exciting than a 60% empty RAC .. Don't know why we don't play a game there. Put in shot clocks and a video board and it could be fun and bring back some good memories, a feel good event all around.

They were all set to play the exhibition game there this year, but the building wasn't ready for the tech hookups required to broadcast from there.

I have no problem playing an early season game in there next year...hope they look at it again

Absolutely for an exhibition but not for a real game. That would be pathetic not to mentio financially impractical.

For all the talk of practice facilities.... Why not make the Barn a world class practice facility and RU park and sports museum for the first football game in the back? Makes too much sense?

Besides the fact that it's used for students as a gym, and for Women's Volleyball as an arena/practice facility, and for wrestling matches/practice facility? And the fact that it's used for public events (Karate tournaments, swimming lessons?

Definitely makes too much sense.
