... in Doris Kearns Goodwin latest book called LEADERSHIP IN TURBULENT TIMES... when Lincoln was about to sign the EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION, he had been shaking hands for a long period before... he was about to put his name to the document but his hand was trembling so he stopped until he had calmness... his reason? He did not want future generations to think he had ever wavered at this huge moment so he wanted a firm strong signature.
