Watching the game last night I thought Corey hurt his ankle but after the game Eddie said it was his toe. I hope he is back soon as we really need him to run the point. BJ is not a point and he is usually out of control and taking too many shots. Does anyone have any more info on Corey? I hate to think about playing Wake Forest or Seton Hall without Corey.

I guess a toe injury is better than an ankle injury so hopefully recoup time is quicker. Hope he's all right.

Chris Carlin and joe Boylan did comment that Corey returned to the bench in the second half but in street clothes.

Sorry to say, but STFU loser
I understand the emotional replies, but let's be serious, why would he stay:

Close to home - no
Winning team - no
Quality coaching - no
Talented teammates - no
Talented recruits coming in next year - no
Chance to play in the NCAA tourney - no

There is no hope for this program right now. I have been watching this program for 30+ years and I took off my scarlet colored glasses a long time ago.

Why don't those that are from NJ that go out of state get homesick?

They do but most of those kids are playing for national programs and winning. Of course Sanders would get homesick. He grew up in an area that is very different than the northeast and he probably never had to work this hard. Hopefully he finds friends here... that will help a lot.

The reply is emotional because your comments on the boards always come off as if you are ROOTING for worst case scenarios to happen to us.

You are openly encouraging Sanders to transfer on a public message board.
What kind of fan does that?

Sure our program is a mess right now (basketball more than football).
But why "wish" for things that will make it even worse?

Next post I expect from you is, Freeman should transfer, and everyone else should transfer, and coach should resign, and we should shut down the program.

You might feel that way, but why do you need to say it on a public message board?
Does that make you feel better?
Just keep that kind of frustration to yourself!

Wait, where do we get the impression that Corey is homesick? I don't see anything on Twitter that gives that impression

Looks like he took it down. He said something referring to the fact that it sucks to be away from family during the Holidays. Not a big deal, IMO.

Oh right, I do remember seeing that...definitely no big deal, I'd hardly call that homesick. Anyway, hope he heals up fast, he is one guy we can't afford to lose.

Disagreement isn't frowned upon. We appreciate the back and forth between different viewpoints (if everybody agreed on everything, this board would be pretty pointless). Constant negativity without actually adding anything to the board is definitely not what we want on the boards, though. Nobody's denying that the program is one of the worst in the country and has been for a good part of the last 20 years. Coming on here and posting "Why shouldn't Corey transfer" and the rest of what you've posted essentially rooting against this team is considered trolling on the board.

We don't need fans that are totally negative. My brother in law is totally negative too. Why do fans like that even bother to attend RU games. They just seem miserable all the time. If they don't care about RU than please find another team to follow.

Don't think you "got it."
What you don't get is: Some things said on public message boards will be criticized, accept that fact
Rainbows and unicorns are not the only posters allowed, doom and gloomers are accepted as part of the fanbase. Both POVs are subject to being criticized and most accept that fact without complaint.
So if you can't do that, at least don't whine about being criticized.
We all have had what we posted criticized at one time or another by more than one person that didn't like what we said. That's no big deal unless you make it one.

Hope you "got it " now.

He'll stay for the same reason he came here. The answers to each of these questions are exactly the same today as when he gave his verbal commitment to Jordan. It isn't as if the state of the mens BB program suddenly changed in the past two weeks. Aren't you really asking why did he commit in the first place? Because he believes in Jordan as a coach and likes the idea of being the centerpiece of a rebuilding project.

I spoke with Corey after the game in Vegas.

He expects to play on Monday. He is upbeat and knows this team has more talent than it showed this week.

He considers Rutgers Basketball his family...I just can't see the kid going anywhere.

He's someone you should stop worrying about and just be a fan of...if that's even possible on these boards anymore that is!

I think Laurent might have been able to go Wednesday in an emergency. I didn't speak with him personally, but I don't think he misses more time. Just a guess though

I hope Corey doesn't transfer.
I hope he doesn't transfer as well. But he did attend seven different high schools so keep your fingers crossed. Rutgers needs to regularly attract Top 100 kids to be competitive in the B1G. Corey could be the beginning of that if he's successful at RU and stays all four years.

Hey BK, Thanks for being the voice of reason. I have been going to the the basketball games for 30 years and the message boards for as long as they have been around I cannot remember a time when everything is so negative. Even at the basketball games a lot of fans in 114 are just complaining the whole time. Let's be positive and watch this team grow together!
