lay this out to me in detail over a MONTH ago including this loss today. Went on to say we would not win six games. I actually kinda laughed him off at the time.....not laughing anymore.

Can you go into more detail?

Like did he think that this would happen because Joe was too easy on our players in the offseason or what?

Something is definitely bad off becasue we have so many former players calling Joe out.

Said Joe was putting too much emphasis on being a friend instead of a coach. That the players had absolutely no fear of him consequently didn't take him or the program seriously. Guaranteed me this season would be a bust. Also said most of the players didn't like Dan but knew what to expect from him and knew what would happen if they 17ed up or didn't give 100% effort.

You can’t have that in a program. It’s like the substitute teacher attitude. They don’t respect him. He is too nice.

The situation you describe is fairly close to what I heard about Jackie's last two seasons, and frankly the results don't counter that. Blowout losses to good teams, head scratching losses to bad teams.

Thanks! Have an upvote.

Yeah- that's rule number one of being successful. Once you lose respect it's hard if not impossible to get it back.

This is why tutorgate is as much on Joe and staff as anyone. There is obviously no accountability within the program and the players don't fear consequences from cutting corners and doing things out of line. I agree, Joe has substitute teacher syndrome. Players are throwing spitballs and flying paper airplanes in class and Joe is politely asking them to stop while they are laughing at him.
