This is pure curiosity on my part. What is the story with Wade Sims. I understand that he has a disability, but curious how he gets access to all of the athletic teams that he does. I am not saying or insinuating that he shouldn’t have it, just curious how it came about.

Sims, who also has a training room in the Mize Pavilion named in his honor, attends MSU through the ACCESS Program. ACCESS was launched several years ago to help students with intellectual challenges live independently and experience university life to the fullest.

Wade does work for the athletic dept in equipment rooms, laundry, etc. His mom and dad are MSU fans and have hauled him all over the country to every MSU athletic event you can come up with. I remember seeing him at Jackson area events as a little bitty guy hanging out around the fields, courts etc. You won't find anybody that loves the Dogs as much as Wade

A few years ago when we played Oklahoma State in Houston, Wade sat by me and my sons, just by chance. We had gotten seats right on the front row somehow. Anyway Jackie came by and talked to us all and Wade got my kids MSU sweatbands. He loves the dogs, and everyone on the staff knows him.
