First drive was scripted pretty nicely, WTH happened after that?

1. 40 yard play cut short by illegal motion
2. One drive was killed by snap that went 20 yards over AMs head
3. INT
4. Fumble
5. Missed FG
6. Dropped Punt

And we didn't see the ball for most of the 2nd half...if we convert points on half of those drives we are looking at 42+..so as bad as we played I would say we had opportunities but didn't convert...some of this was because of pressure and nerves...AM certainly played like he was shook...they need to let Frost LEAD the offense right now and let AM be a 19 year old.

Very true. I think not being able to run on them early shocked AM and the staff. They definitely thought coming into the game they could jam it down their throats and they couldn’t.

Yeah as far as I could tell they didn't audible mid-play as usual..normally they get the play...AM hard counts to read the defense and then they look for a 2nd play. I didn't see any of that. We threw into 8 man coverage on early downs and ran into an 8 man box, the offense normally audibles out of these but for some reason they didn't.

I really think this was the perfect storm of a game for us.

1. I think a lot had to do with 1st game jitters
2. I don’t think Nebraska took USA serious I think the felt like they’d be able to walk in and sleep walk through it and still run away with the game
2. Stupid penalties and horrible snaps killed drives
3. Frost’s offense is very much a rhythm offense, the first half was bad, the second half there was no way to get into a rhythm when your on the sidelines for that long.

Now I could go on but a few of those bullet points lead into other things. USA out gained Nebraska yardage wise but again when the O is on the sideline they can’t gain yards, the QB gets cold, the line gets cold, the backs get cold, that’s why long drives are so helpful.

Now yes there were a ton of things that I seen that do not give me the warm and fuzzies but it was the first game. I’m not going to sit here and make excuses for the team because well I’m not one of the players, but what I will do is chalk that game up under the win column and hope to see improvement in the next game... I don’t expect us to be playing at an all world clip right now, the best teams peak towards the end of the season not the beginning... but we do have what seems like a lot to figure out between now and next Saturday
